Well Leighton didn't lie about that particular statement. And as I said, its her job to up sell the show she stars on. She's supposed to make it sound better.

No, but she made it sound like her show shows NYC more authentically, which is absolutely ludicrous. It's what SatC is KNOWN for, lol. They called NYC their fifth main character. They have one problem one time due to weather going to the actual place and Leighton acts like GG is so much more authentic? I've seen GG clips. It can't begin to compare to how SatC showcased NYC.

They call NYC a main character on GG too. And New York magazine put the cast on the cover.

SatC doesn't have to be the ONLY show to represent NY. And Leighton is supposed to act like GG is the BEST THING EVER. She didn't insult SatC, she made a passing statement indicating that the GG will get to do something that SatC was unable to. It wasn't with evil intentions, lol.

Eh. I don't see why SatC came up at all. Why not just talk about the Hamptons and leave it at that?

GG doesn't represent NY, though. Actually, it doesn't represent anything. OTH represents NC more than GG represents ****. The media needs to stop trying to make GG happen!

It's laughable to claim GG will ever be iconic in how it portrays NYC the way SatC did. Like I said. No show has ever been that successful portraying any city. You can watch SatC and FEEL like you're in NY.

They shoot on location all the time so of course it represents New York. Obviously, more of the Upper East Side.

Nobody said GG will be the same as SatC. You're both just looking for reasons to bash the show and its cast.

It doesn't represent NY the way SatC did, lol. It just doesn't. SatC actually SET trends, for what would become the new hot club, what would become the new best restaurant. They sent Manolo Blahnik and Jimmy Choo shoe sales through the roof, lol. Manolo Blahnik actually designs shoes specifically for SJP because her character gave him so much exposure. They searched out little favorites like Magnolia Bakery, as well as showing all the famous parts of the city. They made the Cosmopolitan THE New York drink. It's just on a level all its own. It can't be compared to.
