It's just really emotional and while it's not demonizing Carrie, it's showing that infidelity, while it is something that's not necessarily done by bad people, is something that's essentially impossible to get past. | Fan Forum's Finest | SJP and John Corbett were obviously both exhausted with the repetitive dialogue at that point, they were just like "Eh. We're done." LOL. From a Big/Carrie standpoint, their second relationship and dissolution is good, because it proves that Carrie just flat out doesn't love and doesn't want Aidan. That is not for her.
