| Elite Fan | We have Medicare in Aus which basically subsidizes costs for every citizen. So medicine that would normally cost $400 ends up being $10 and a visit to the GP isn't $300 it ends up being like $20. Does the US have something like that? __________________ | |||

| Fan Forum's Finest | Well, insurance will do that. Insurance will cut costs from hundreds of dollars to possibly just a few bucks. But there are several different insurance companies and it's not automatic- you get insurance through school (if you're a college student), through your parents if you're a minor or like, under 22 or something, through your job...and some insurance is much better than others. My mom has pretty good insurance with her job, for example, but she had lousy insurance at the last company she worked for.
