She just jumped up to 272k followers on Instagram! She was on 219k a couple of days ago.

Can Cannes be every week?!?

Now I just need her to fly to every major fashion week of the year, and I can die happy.

Today I came across an article in The Sun (a tabloid of course) which contained some disturbing information about celebrities not actually staying to see the films that they have just appeared on the Cannes red carpet for. Mischa was specifically mentioned, regarding the Loving premiere, where she appeared to be heading in to see the film. In fact, the article alleged (from their correspondent on the ground), she instead slipped out of a side door right after the red carpet parade and spent the next 2 hours getting ready for another event. If true, this contradicts Mischa's own Instagram post from that day where she said that she was getting ready to see Loving. Unfortunately that makes her (or whoever is posting those Instagram posts for her - if anyone) look dishonest, which is not good.

The Sun's correspondent also claimed to have been told by an A-list celebrity there that this kind of behaviour is commonplace at Cannes, as they are really only there to get photographed and attend the lavish parties. Actually seeing the films on offer is, for many, not even on the list of priorities.

PR is no doubt the main reason for Mischa being there at all this year, as given the fragile state of her career - which gets her criticism/abuse in various places online (like the Comments section below each Daily Mail article on her), it will be hard for a lot of people to grasp why she deserves to be there. At present, she comes across as more of a well-dressed socialite than an actress, although her new management's strategy is likely still in its early stages - DWTS must have been part of a profile-raising effort by them. Unless she and them can save her career in the next 5 years, I feel it may be too late for her.

I don't think it's a secret celebrities often don't actually watch the movies when they're on the red carpet.

Cannes above all festivals is a red carpet draw.

RE: Xavi, Mischa has been pictured with a bunch of models lately. I'm wondering where these friendships are coming from, lol.
