My visit to Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach, California, in September 2019 in search of filming locations from The OC.

Thanks to www.seeing-stars.com, I was able to find some of the iconic ones.

The Redondo Beach Pier and The Diner - totally unchanged since the show's filming (!) - were the most atmospheric, until I visited the Lifeguard Stand........

Here, I have made a video matching some clips from the show to my photos of the real locations used in them. I hope you enjoy it.

Sadly, the Balboa Lighthouse restaurant and the Bait Shop have gone, demolished since the end of the show. Only the octagonal outline of the Bait Shop remains on the concrete plaza where it stood.

Alex's apartment from Season 2 I also found, but it is not easy to photograph due to growth of a bush outside which almost obscures the doorway from the street out front.

If anyone can review the video, or offer their own experiences of visiting The OC filming locations, please could you do so?

Interesting what is still up and what is not! A lot of shows re-use (see: the Bones diner being used in later HIMYM shots).
