| Mischa News and Appearances #21: 2008 is her year! Woo!    The top story cluttering all media sources for the last couple of weeks was news of Mischa's DUI leading to her arrest. After a 7 hour stay, Mischa was released on $10,000 bail. The following days were fairly quiet with Mischa being spotted only a couple of times; once with her dogs and the second time leaving Church.  In breaking news, Mischa appeared on Ryan Seacrest's radio show and talked about the DUI for the very first time.  "Obviously I'm 100 percent responsible for my actions in this case," Barton, 21, told Ryan Seacrest's L.A. radio show Thursday morning, about her DUI arrest. "I'm really disappointed in myself. I don't know what to say about it, except that I'm not perfect, and I just don't ever intend to do something this stupid again." People.com  Mischa is currently in Pittsburgh filming her upcoming thriller "Homecoming". She is then scheduled to attend the Sundance Film Festival to promote "Assassination of a High School President" co-starring Bruce Willis.  Mischa has nine movies in the works, as we all know: Virgin Territory, Closing the Ring, Don't Fade Away, St. Trinians, You and I, The Sophomore, Walled In, Homecoming and Malice in Sunderland. Currently screening in the United Kingdom, St. Trinian's and Closing the Ring have performed with mixed results at the box office. St. Trinian's continues to perform very well in the United Kingdom with an additional $2,710,623 for a cumulative total of $15,230,372 (£7,706,568). Currently in its fourth week of release, St. Trinian's has grossed more in the UK than some international hits such as Bee Movie and Alvin and the Chipmunks. This week, Closing the Ring shows signs that it may have some staying power in limited release. It's box office numbers for week 2 are almost identical to it's gross in week 1. For the period Jan 03-Jan 06, the film grossed an additional $46,316 for a cumulative total of $134,192 (£68,022). That's only 0.6% down from last week. Mischa is also set to possibly go to the Australian premiere for Closing The Ring in February. These plans may have been changed as Mischa's court hearing is scheduled for the same time. Mischa is currently confirmed to be in attendance.    Finally, Mischa is set to begin filming Malice in Sunderland in April.  In particularly exciting news, Mischa is on the cover of the new Maxim. | Oh Good Jesus why cant I shut up!!??  Mischa Barton's Sister Attempts Suicide January 09, 2008 It's safe to say the Barton's aren't having a good year. While Mischa Barton was getting arrested for a DUI, her younger sister Hania had a drug overdose and was rushed to the hospital. A source close to the family told the National Enquirer: "The family bodyguard found her obviously overdosed on drugs, called her mother, and then rushed Hania to the emergency room. It was a suicide attempt, and by the time she got to hospital, Hania was absolutely hysterical." Hania confessed to overdosing on Soma, a muscle relaxer, and spent 6 hours at Ceder's Sinai Medical before being discharged. This isn't the first time Hania has made headlines for drug use. Hania went to rehab in February '07 to treat her addiction to prescription pain killers.
