Logan was...I don't even know if I'd call it regression because nothing in his character ever suggested he'd behave in such a way, so it was more entirely OOC in the reboot. Logan was a rebellious brat at first in the show. In the reboot he was his father's obedient robot. Totally unlike him and a disservice to arguably the only character to show growth in later seasons.

I heard that breakup was UGLY, and every time they've interacted since indicates that is true, lol.

No, she lovessss Matt and likes Logan. She was just hella resentful that the last season with a lot of his progress was not written by her, so she gutted it. It was super childish.

I mean, Milo SEEMS to have grown up which is a good thing, but his treatment of Alexis and Hayden P was pretty infamous, and Alexis isn't really under any obligation to forgive him if he behaved as he was heavily rumored to have behaved. I'm just glad Alexis got her life together, because Hayden isn't there yet

OMG, she's so childish. She refused to acknowledge S7 in more than the most vague terms. No character progress was acknowledged.

Yes - publicly, no less. He was caught yelling at both of them in public at various points.

Those issues aside, Milo is much better suited for This is Us, which is quieter and slower and more overtly emotional, than he was at GG. GG was incredibly fast-paced and witty, and Matt Czuchry excels at fast-paced dialogue and dry humor, but also at playing emotions that are underneath a character who is wise-cracking and flip on the surface. Matt and Liza Weil were definitely the two strongest younger performers on GG.

But Alexis still had better chem with Chad back in the day. LOL. It was so weird.

We talk about how early 2000s show had their own sets of problems - GG was no different, and fan reactions were kind of...as expected. Jess was the broody bad boy, which was (and still is, although I hope it's getting more nuanced and less creepy) a popular archetype. But there were some hella problematic undertones there.

Alexis is such a better actress now, lol, it just blows my mind.

And there were problematic undertones with Dean too, he was controlling and demanding, but Jess emotionally abused her and one time pretty aggressively tried to pressure her into sex. Jess wasn't magically less problematic because Dean was problematic first, lol.

There are some S1 GG scenes that are legit shocking in how utterly blank she is. And now she has the most expressive eyes. Like...wut. When did that happen.

She may be better suited to Handmaid's Tale material, who knows. She can be pretty funny in delivering a dry one-liner, but depth of emotion did not used to be her thing, lol.

I also may have had a different perspective because I watched GG late, so I knew how popular Jess was. And when he came on, I was like "...This is him?"

Broody bad boy who secretly likes to read. LOL. And he and Alexis initially had more chemistry than she'd had with Jared, although to me it still wasn't exactly setting the world on fire - that show was all about Luke and Lorelai when it came to impressive chemistry.
