Chicken and a Side Order of Fate

Okay, for this story, I actually took it over from someone else. They stopped writing it on the OC message board and I felt compelled to continue it. Here is a brief summary of what they wrote: Marissa is from Chino where she works at a sleazy resturant called "Hot Chickens". Her parents, Jimmy and Julie, there is no Caitlyn, and they are a happy family, are both dying of caner. Marissa has dropped out of college to work full time in an attempt to cover some of their hospital bills. Ryan is a spoiled, selfish Newport Brat, wealthy and priviledged. He dates Holly. Seth and Summer date and are his best friends. They just happen to stumble into the resturant where Marissa works. Holly is rude to her, but there is this instant connection between Ryan and Marissa and he becomes annoyed with how Holly treats her. Because of her parents illnesses, Marissa has gotten herself into some gambling debt and ends up borrowing $5000 from Ryan (random, I know, but I didn't write this part) to cover it to the guy she owes it to, her psuedo boyfriend who she is just with because.....it's Chino. He is mean and abusive, attacking her roughly and he possibly raped her. (I know this is a bad summary, but I didn't write this part of the story. If you have questions, ask.)

So this is Ryan after the accident and how he copes and stuff and as much as i want Marissa to be alive next season on the show, i thought i would explore how Ryan would take Marissa being gone, with flashbacks of their relationship in between.

So yeah i hope this is okay i have flashbacks with Marissa in every chapter except the first, but as this is revloving around Marissa's death, i think that its Marissa related. By all means remove it if its not.

This is my fic, that I will be adding on for...well...I don't know. Each little fic will have a prologue and about 8-10 short chapters and that will make up an "episode." Here is the first and it picks up right after the accident. It is mostly with everyone dealing with Marissa's accident. Ryan and Marissa have some conversations, as do Seth and Marissa, Ryan and Julie, and Ryan and Summer. Jimmy makes an appearance, as do Kaitlin and Taylor.

The Fiction: Marissa Cooper is a spoiled princess frustrated with her seemingly perfect but in actuality boring and empty life. As a way to escape what she believes to be a numbing existence, she starts drinking and pursues bad boy Trey Harper, falling into a passionate relationship with him. However, things spin out of control when Trey turns out to be much worse than she thought he was. He’s addicted to cocaine, starts violent fights that lead to him getting arrested, and actively encourages her to experiment with drugs. When it finally culminates in him becoming violent with her, she breaks up with him. Her old friend Seth Cohen sees how down she is and starts more actively befriending her; she begins to spend more time with him and his girlfriend Summer Roberts, pulling herself out of the hole she’d been in. Seth and Summer introduce her to Seth’s cousin, nice guy Ryan Atwood, who she connects with right off the bat. The four of them quickly become inseparable, but as Ryan and Marissa grow closer and their flirtation increases, Marissa becomes wary of getting into a relationship after Trey and tries to push Ryan away. However, Ryan doesn’t want to be pushed away and as they keep ending up in close proximity despite Marissa’s fears, she finally relents and they start a romantic relationship. They quickly fall in love and have an idyllic relationship- until Trey re-emerges. He starts harassing Marissa: showing up at school, calling her, and finally showing up at an event she and Ryan are at together. Ryan warns Trey off but that only heightens his temper and his harassment explodes into full blown stalking; Marissa wakes up in the middle of the night one night- right as Trey is fleeing her house. As Trey continues to mentally and emotionally harass Marissa, Ryan’s war with him escalades. Ryan shows up at his place and slams him into a wall, warning him to back off. In retaliation, Trey has a friend of his start a fight with Ryan at a Newport party as he looks on from afar. Terrified of how Ryan’s life is spinning out of control because of her, Marissa tries to break up with him for his own sake. However, Ryan doesn’t want to be broken up with and after they’re both thoroughly miserable apart, Marissa relents and they reunite. Trey finally snaps and gets a gun from a friend of his. While Ryan, Marissa, Seth, and Summer go to the Bait Shop one night, Trey starts a shoot-out and Marissa narrowly escapes getting seriously injured. Ryan saw him there beforehand, but Trey is lost in the confusion and panic. Trey calls him to taunt him about not being able to do anything and Ryan explodes, going over to Trey’s place to confront him- where he’s waiting with a gun. Seth saw Ryan leave and warns Marissa, who shows up as Trey as choking Ryan. She sees the gun on the floor and ends up shooting and killing Trey to protect Ryan. Cut to- a couple months later, where Ryan and Marissa are starting to heal from the damage Trey did and at last, settling into a somewhat normal and happy relationship. Those are snippets from the James Blunt “Good-bye My Lover” music video starring Mischa; you never see his face and from the back, the man looks like Logan. I’m not thrilled with the “Blue Light” transition, but trust me when I tell you it used to be much worse. I’ve never done an AU vid before, so my apologies for however rough it may be. Regarding the use of “Exile” in the third part- during Ryan and Trey’s final showdown- I feel like I did about that piece of music when I used it for a more complete video about the Trey storyline: it’s like, insanely melodramatic. Heh. That said, it builds tension like no other song I have, so Exile it is. I am doing a fanfiction to go along with this vid, which will fill in some of the plot holes (like why the police aren’t handling Trey). I stole Johnny’s last name for Trey here, because I wish someone as talented as Logan were playing Johnny. Sigh.
