Mischa Barton parties in Cannes but snubs premiere of her 'awful' new movie

British actress Mischa Barton went to Chopard's Cannes bash - but was not at the premiere of her new movie, You And I.

Mischa, 22, pulled out of any promotional work because she was apparently going home.

But according to my source, Mischa thought the film was awful and didn't want to be involved in the project.

And I'm told that the OC star was still on the Riviera, quaffing champagne while her film premiered.

When asked why she wasn't at the premiere, Mischa snapped: 'I was never due to go.' So, why were you in Cannes, Mischa?

They always make something out of nothing w/ her. And, also, none of the other actors were at that "photocall," so it's obvious they're trying to make her look bad. SURPRISE!

ETA: And I think if the director needed/wanted/asked her to be there, she would have. And like I said, none of the actors seem to be involved.

I don't think many will appreciate me posting this here but I think this pretty much confirms that Mischa was a no show.

It's Mischa time again...

BBC Radio 1's Natalie Jamieson spoke to the director of her new movie, Roland Joffe (yes, the same Roland Joffe who made The Killing Fields) last week.

He was at a loss to explain why his star had pulled out of interviews for the film.

"She hasn't pulled out of interviews, she's pulled out of everything," he said. "We don't know where Mischa Barton is!

"All I can say is her room is here, she is here, but trying to get the two together has just been impossible. We just don't know where Mischa is.

But he wasn't too angered by the vanishing act. "Mischa's 21," he said.

"I have no idea where she is, but sometimes I don't know where my 21-year-old daughter is as well."

Russian pop group taTu - who are still going, apparently - star alongside Barton in the film. Describing their movie debut, they gave us the quote of the festival.

"Is not lesbian film," said the duo. "Is love film."

I personally don't care that she snubbed the promo work for this role cause as I said after seeing the poster and trailer, I think it looks crap. But I dislike the fact that this move may give her a bit of a bad rep.

I think Mischa thought that this film would be about the two girls and their journey in the seedy underworld of Russia but its turned out to be this messy story plastered with crap about tatu.

Dont want to comment too much though cause obviously I haven't seen it but it would have been good if she maybe skipped on this altogether.

I don't really know what to think about this, other than I do think Mischa obviously thought the finale product would be different than it was. I remember the story saying her reps did not want her to do this movie, and I think she got swept up in the idea of filming in Russia.

Yeah, and see, that's exactly what Mischa thought they WEREN'T promoting, I remember from an interview. I think what she thought was just a few throwaway scenes have ended up taking over the movie.
