No, nothing for the US. Who knows if this will even get a national release in the US.

Meanwhile, there is a poster on the IMDB boards saying that they saw a brief trailer of the movie and that it was very funny. Who knows how truthful the statement is, but I guess its a step in the right direction lol.

I would think between Rupert and Mischa, this would have some appeal in the US. Rupert is very popular here, has been since My Best Friend's Wedding.

I'm pretty sure this confirms a national release for the US. Although it's not mentioned directly, it's impossible that the US wouldn't be part of the list.

Quote:
They attempted to get St Trinian's noticed alongside the big studios who were in town promoting blockbusters Oceans Thirteen and The Simpsons Movie.

The sales team had some success at Cannes.

It sold rights to the film to be shown in 41 countries around the world and made back a quarter of the film's £7 million budget.
source

It's really positive to hear so many countries have bought rights to the film. It's just a matter of 'when' they'll be released that's the question now. I can't see it taking long after the British release, Ealing have great faith in the movie.

Also, Sam, here's that trailer you mentioned. Rupert was on FNP, and if you go here at the 5:20 mark there's a short trailer for the movie. I didn't see Mischa in it, but the movie looks really good!

So true. It looks awesome, something I'd watch regardless of Mischa. Having Mischa in it, is just a bonus. Really ooks like such a fun film.

I'm trying to get tickets to the previews, for now, you and I will be the first people from this board to see it, lol.

Certain other films have left their scars, lol. I can't see it changing to be honest. Ealing don't usually let down in terms of dates and stuff.

Yeah, I definitely will! Plus, I can probably get a pirate and upload it for a few friends.

But to be honest, I don't think she's a major character in the movie. That's the impression, I'm under.

Ealing only sell the movie, they don't have control over release schedules once the rights are sold. I think Sony is distributing in Aus, don't know how reliable they are release date wise.

It felt like she wrapped filming in 2 seconds so I'll also be surprised if her role is substantial.

Here's hoping the date sticks, cause I'm sure none of us can handle another date change.

Yeah, it was announced and as soon as that happened. It felt like she finished filming.

As long as we get to see her on screen, in those school girl outfits. I won't be complaining, it's getting a lot of buzz here. Which is good, and her name is frequently mentioned, too.

I just hope that she does promo for it. I'm in desperate need of a new talk show interview.

St Trinian's girls take over cinemas this Christmas

NEW British comedy St Trinian's is set for a Christmas 2007 release.

The film stars a veritable who's who of top comic acting talent. Rupert Everett (Shrek, My Best Friend's Wedding, An Ideal Husband) takes on the dual roles of the unorthodox headmistress Camilla Fritton and her brother Carnaby Fritton opposite Colin Firth (Bridget Jones Diary, The Importance of Being Earnest) as Education Minister Geoffrey Thwaites. Comedian Russell Brand stars as Flash Harry, Caterina Murino (Casino Royale) plays Miss Maupassant, the languages teacher, Jodie Whittaker (Venus) takes on the role of school receptionist Beverly, and Stephen Fry plays the Quizmaster of "School Challenge."

Lena Headey (300) plays new teacher, Miss Dickinson, Toby Jones (Infamous, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) is the school's Bursar, Celia Imrie (Bridget Jones' Diary, Calendar Girls) is the Matron, Anna Chancellor, (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Spooks) plays Miss Bagstock and, Mischa Barton, star of acclaimed US TV drama The OC, plays ex head girl JJ French, and Girls Aloud will play the school band.

A host of rising talent plays the new breed of modern day St Trinian's girls including top international model, Lily Cole, who plays the role of student Polly.

The infamous school for young ladies, St Trinian's, is once again facing dire financial crisis. While unorthodox headmistress Camilla Fritton struggles to deal with the new Education Minister Geoffrey Thwaites' tireless advances and his unyielding objective of transforming her chaotic environs into a respectable ladies' college, the responsibility for saving St Trinian's from its creditors falls to the anarchic pupils.

The fearless girls gather together a motley crew of teachers, associates, and the rest of the school's ungovernable and uninhibited pranksters, who, using their wit, sass, determination and ingenuity, attempt to pull off the heist of the century and save the school from impending bankruptcy.
