Honestly, I wonder if Laurel would have had better writing had the show been allowed to cast her. Katie has less than no chemistry with Stephen, which is really hard to work around in a show that revolves around Oliver. She can't be his love interest, which makes it difficult for her to be the lead female given that it's, you know, his show.
Then again, Laurel's writing was crap from the pilot, lol. Bizarrely, they appeared to pattern her after Rachel Dawes. But she's also not the right character for Katie, who's better in the sassy vixen role. __________________

Yeah, honestly, I would rather Mischa get a supporting Felicity type role, lol, or in this case I think she would work better as a Sara-type. Just so we don't have a repeat of The OC, lol.
