I think it was better between Joie and Paul because he was more experienced, but she had raw talent. She COULD meet him toe to toe in scenes if the scene called for it. But he also helped her become more polished.

But like, on Roswell, Emilie de Ravin was comically bad as Tess, and paired with Jason Behr, probably the strongest of the younger actors, and it was just a mess. Neither of them knew what to do with the other, lol.

Oh, she definitely has, and I think on Roswell, she really struggled hiding her accent (which she's also gotten better at). It was better on Lost that she was allowed to use her real accent.

Also, in her defense, Tess was a mess of a character. It was like the casting call was "Someone to mess up the OTP couple and we are putting exactly no more thought into it than that."
