I just don't think he really did anything but save OLIVER's life if he was really going to kill himself. But Oliver made NO attempt to hurt or kill Marissa. There's no evidence of this. Even when Ryan was being an idiot and breaking into the school, the file said that Oliver tried to hurt HIMSELF over a girl; he didn't try to hurt the girl.

But Marissa called him for a reason. Whether or not there was an actual threat of physical violence, she was emotionally scared for her life. She thought that Oliver may hurt her which is the same as him actually intending to hurt her. Ryan took away her fear.

Marissa called him because, unfortunately, she has no other friends.

Of course Marissa was scared. The psycho had a gun. But it's not the same thing as Oliver actually DOING something to her. She was SCARED.

She only needed to look at the way he was waving that gun around like a baton to know he was more likely to shoot himself than her, if only because he's inept. LOL.

I didn't say that him doing something is the same as her fearing it. I said that him intending to do something is the same. She thought that something could happen to her. False fear is the same as fear with a reason cause either way you're scared in the same way.

And I hate Ryan passionately, but in that moment, she was relieved to see him. He did make her feel safe.

I don't care if he made her feel safe. That is not SAVING HER. The fact is, Ryan being there didn't CHANGE anything, but MAYBE save Oliver's life. Marissa could have called Sandy and the same result could have taken place.

But here is the thing Ryan didnt really "save her" cause the minute she ran into his arms. He looked like she burnt him or something lol

And I think there are different degrees of saving a person.

I think what Jess is saying is that he didn't save her LIFE, because her life was never seriously threatened. He may have saved her from further EMOTIONAL harm, but he didn't save her LIFE.

And yeah, I agree that anyone on the show would have helped her. It's like when GA fans try to say only Derek would have gone into the water for Meredith (even if the other characters knew she was in there). Yeah, I'm sure Alex and George would have just let her drown if they knew she was in the water, lol. It's heroic, but not SO heroic that other characters wouldn't have done it.
