I actually think that maybe one of the reasons the show didn't attract as big of an audience as expected is because it does seem very similar to The OC on the surface. I guess maybe people don't watch to a clone show.

But I hope that as time goes on people will discover that it's a very different show with different core storylines.

Oh, sma.e People need to give it a more in depth look before they judge. And that's probably one of the main reasons of it's ratings. No one's giving it a chance because of the name attached to it. (Josh's)

Yeah, I hope people see that in this show. There's so many elements The OC never had and it's much more different then what everyone is stereotyping for it to be.

I think its also cause the market is pretty drenched with primetime soaps so its pretty difficult to get people invested in a freshman series on a small network.

Maybe they should adjust the tag line "From the creator of The OC which was the show that starred Mischa Barton"...much more attractive

that's true, i watch it because when i saw the trailer, they said from the creators of the o.c.,
especially the executive producers are josh schwartz and stephanie savage
i mean, the media is totally hyping the show based on the 1st season popularity that the o.c. gain

True it's not the best time year and best network for it to be airing on. With that said, it was on of the most talked about shows for AGES before it actually aired.

LOL. I like that. It would do the show some much needed good, that and a Blake mention somewhere there would be AWESOME.

Random comment, but did that shot of Blake in the E&A trailer remind you of Marissa in the pool/sauna scene from season 3? Both blonde, hot and in black bikinis

Maybe cause The OC was more about the outsiders looking in while Gossip Girl is the insiders branching out.

That was the very first thing I thought of, lol.

I wish it was in HQ. Looks amazing. And she was on a runaway which reminded me of Marissa in The Pilot, or whatever episode it was with the fashion show.

kinda because there's so many things we want from marissa's character that we didn't get and serena is our void
