Writers, ESPECIALLY TV writers, should be somewhat flexible. There's a happy medium between being a slave to fandoms and acknowledging when something isn't working.

And I've seen JJ Abrams and Rob Thomas capable of doing it, whereas Josh was weirdly slavish to one fan board and HIMYM went all the way in the other direction.

It'd be one thing if they'd decided to be ~artistically consistent~ and just go with TR all along, but they didn't, because they knew it wasn't popular.

It just feels like they cheated. LOL. Like they strung viewers along to get their max time out, only to turn around and screw the viewers over based on their own weird vision.

And the writers willfully cheated, and strung the viewers along, which just isn't a satisfying feeling.
