It was an exciting day, for sure. My manager, Laurie, and I, went to Mystic Lake, where all the artists were performing and met Brian, her tour manager. When it was time to meet her, he motioned for us to come back after she'd done her meet and greet with fans. When she came out, she said, "Keri!" and walked right over and hugged me. I don't know why, but I was still expecting that she wouldn't know who I was, for some reason. So, we kind of laughed and started talking.

First of all, she' s really bubbly, lots of energy…and it's all wrapped up in this teeny-tiny person. She's really little. She said that after she heard my song for the first time, she decided to Google me. She'd never heard of me before. Then she was like, "You've been everywhere! How did I not know?" We laughed and talked a little more.

It was pretty quick, but ended with her saying, "If you've got any other songs, I'd love to hear them, maybe for my next record." I wanted to say, "OF COURSE I have more songs!!!", but decided to try and contain myself for the moment. (no need to frighten her on our first meetingJ)

We said goodbye, and Laurie and I took our seats for her performance.

Can I just say…the girl can SING! She did 8 songs, all the hits, and rocked every one of them. She didn't miss a note. And the whole time, she was jumping around, giving people a great show. I was so in awe of her voice.

So, given that it was the Star Party, put on by the big Top 40 radio station in town, she sang the hits and nothing but the hits. So, no If No One Will Listen, although, she did say that she's excited to tour with it. But, I have to say, I think she's got a hard job. She's got so many great songs, so many of them up-tempo, I don't know how she's going to throw a ballad in with so many big songs. We'll have to wait and see.

So, I got to meet Kelly Clarkson. She knew who I was, said some really sweet things about my song, and I got to watch her bring the house down. It was a good day…..a very good day………

That's super sweet. That's great that she got to meet her and that she enjoyed the show so much.

I found this today. It's an interview with Mike Watt and he was asked about Kelly.

But I don't do a lot of session work. That's a hard situation. It's good to do, because it's good to learn. But I mean, you go in there, you hear the song for the first time, you gotta learn it, you gotta figure out a part, people are lookin' at you with their arms folded. Although these people were very nice. She was very nice — she had no posse — and she could really sing, I'll tell you that.
