Aparently when Kelly told everyone at the NAMM show she looked and sounded so excited.

I'm so happy that she'll be performing BOY.

I just saw an old interview with her from 2002 where she was so excited and kept saying her big dream would be to perform at the Grammys. In that interview she sounded soooo happy at the thought that one day it might happen...and lok at her now. Wow!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that to top off her night she wins one too.

She's performing at the Grammy's?! I think I'm gonna cry.

I'm SO happy for her, she really deserves it, and I hope she wins, she deserves that too.

Unfortunately, so far we don't have any of her performances at the NAMM show. She performed 4 songs: Breakaway, SUBG, BTHE and BOY. So far the website only has a pic of her singing. I know that last year they eventually put up her performance so maybe they will again this year.

Ok, LOTS of Kelly news happened while the board was down. The biggest one is probably the fact that she will be touring again this summer, but this time in order to preview some of her material for her third album.

wow i felt a little stalkerish watching that video. but she looks hot.

i watched a preview on ET and she was being interviewed and she said she was going to perform with rascall flatts at some country music awards show in may.

Kevin: Bahama Bound with Kelly Clarkson

So last week, my boss LINDA BELL BLUE walks up to me and says, "Hey, can you handle going to the Bahamas to interview KELLY CLARKSON?" She always does that when she is sending me some place sweet -- she starts with, "Hey can you handle..." It's sort of a ritual now because she knows I love to travel and get so geeked when I get assignments in exotic locations. By the way, to me, even Winnipeg is an exotic location! Anyway, Kelly is on vacation with her friends in the Bahamas, taking one last break before she finishes her album and hits the road. She wanted to promote those things and lucky for me, she didn't want to cut her vacation short to do it. So that's how I ended up going for work, to a place where everybody else goes for vacation.

Kelly has been hanging with her girls, soaking up the sun and playing lots of cards -- yeah cards! Apparently she loves to play gin rummy and things get pretty competitive amongst the Clarkson crew. That's one of the things I really like about Kelly, she is this ridiculously monsterous pop star but at the same time as regular as it gets.

In a way, I feel bad for her, because fame is starting to rob her of her "kinda" normal life. During our interview, which was done in a somewhat remote spot, fans were everywhere. The great thing is that Kelly's girlfriends try to run interference so that she doesn't get swamped, but people love the girl.

Besides lots of gin rummy, Kelly also loves to hit the hot tub, and they also plan on doing some snorkling. She is also doing some writing. Kelly takes her laptop with her everywhere and considers it relaxing to knock out a few lyrics. Even though it isn't done, Kelly says the new album will have a more rock and roll flavor. She says she gets bored easily and that's why this album will sound nothing like the last. She wants to keep evolving, so get ready. After the album is done its on the road again for what Kelly claims is like her 9th tour, so that's one of the reasons they are calling this the "Addicted Tour," because apparently she is addicted to touring.

Now when she first hit the road Kelly was rolling in a very average tour bus. Apparently, she didn't know about the "star" buses that have a large bedroom in the back. For her first couple of tours she had a bus that just had bunks and she slept in one like all of the other band members. That has changed. She finally got the hooked up "star" bus and is diggin' it. That's one of the reasons she doesn't mind being on the road. She gets her meals cooked, she gets to see her fans and she loves to perform.

One last thing about the interview, we had a real laugh about the fact that I had to come "all the way" to the Bahamas, I thanked her for hooking me up. Then she stood up, and the little silk jumper she was wearing (hey, we were on the beach!) had a bunch of sweat stains on it. She looked at it, laughed and we took the next shot. That's what makes Kelly so cool, she's the real deal. A real star, who is real down to earth.

Her songs are very personal. Hits like "Because of You" have a wounded sound that Clarkson says many fans can identify with. "In America, I think that's almost every kid. Like just because nowadays people take divorce lightly. People take marriage lightly, I just think people don't put enough value in family anymore, and people don't realize what that does to everybody involved," she said.

Clarkson's triumph on American Idol was just the beginning. She went on to capture numerous awards, including two Grammys this year, and her album "Breakaway" has launched five hit singles. As her music evolves, so does her image, appearing frequently on the glossy pages.

And although success is sweet, she admits one thing could make it even better: "I could find him. Is he around here anywhere?" she laughed, glancing around Paradise Island. As for what she's looking for in a man, "I look for humor. I like funny guys, I need a Christian guy, I need a family guy," she told Kauffman.

For the moment, her schedule doesn't allow much time for that. Next month Clarkson will perform at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Then she'll hit the road with her "Addicted" tour. "I called it 'Addicted' because this is literally my ninth tour in the past two years," she said. "I just keep touring — but I love it!"

And while Clarkson, who turns 24 on April 24, has gone from Southern girl to cover girl, she has definitely not become a diva. "I love making music and getting paid for it. I've had so many jobs and just been down so many wrong roads and I know this road is good," she said. "I know that obviously there's more to this world than being famous or being Kelly Clarkson," she said.

Clarkson will be performing with Rascal Flatts on the Academy of Country Music Awards, which can be seen on CBS on May 23. Her "Addicted" tour kicks off on June 30 in West Palm Beach.
