I get the feeling RCA want DLMSY but Kelly doesn't, I think she'd prefer IICHY if it's an upbeat one.

I'd be happy with either, DLWSY is my fave on AIEW but if she doesn't want to release it, then I'm happy with it staying an album track, there's always an "unspoilt" feeling of great album tracks.

I completely agree Hev. DLMSY is my absolute fave song from the album, but if Kelly wants another song, I'm fine keeping it a fan favorite gem!

The thing for me though is that as much as I like DLMSY, I want a song that Kelly is going to want to promote. I get the feeling that if her heart's not into it then she might not do as much promo for it. Or at least not really feel like it. So in that sense, I'd be ok with any single she's ok with.

I concur!

If anything having your favorites as singles takes away from them as they can become overplayed and lose some of that magic. I think that happened with BOY a little bit, don't get me wrong it's an amazing song but if it wasn't a single we'd all be like "OMG THAT IS THE BEST SONG IN THE WORLD EVERRRRRR"

I remember when I first was listening to Breakaway and someone had a comment saying that she would win a Grammy for BOY. Well, it wasn't that specific song, but she sang it at the Grammys! That's pretty neat.
I do love that song, but I have to admit that sometimes I just don't want to hear it. I've heard it a few too many times.

So, it's definitely true that it can be better to not have a favorite song be a single.

Oh that's a great point. Maybe I don't want to hear DLMSY on the radio because it just might ruin it. Hazel Eyes was never over played on the radio for me but I will admit I've lost some of the love for Already Gone because it's played so much.

The thing I love is that now, with digital platforms like iTunes, album tracks don't go as unoticed as they did, you don't have to buy the album to hear them anymore.

itunes and youtube, though things might be out there illeagally sometimes, have really created a promotion tool for entire albums and singles. Fan Vids (like for Tv shows, movie, couples, etc) are using all kinds of songs left and right.

Yeah it doesn't require any action from the record companies to get songs noticed anymore. Fan bases and street teams can get songs promoted all on their own!

Exactly. A lot of people discovered Addicted and Where Is Your Heart through fan vids on youtube. Which is kinda cool.

I think that iTunes link on youtube vids is a great feature. Instead of just regardlessly deleting copyrighted songs they've started adding a link to iTunes on the vids that get a lot of views, I have a vid which is Taylor Swift's white horse with the pitch changed that sounds like Colbie Callait is singing it, a hell of a lot of people are convinced it is actually Colbie, despite the fact I clearly state in the info bit that it's just Taylor with the pitch changed...

It came up saying "Matched 3rd party content" but instead of deleting it they just put an itunes link to White Horse on it and it has over 100,000 views!
