This thread was the idea of some of the posters on here so I'm just starting it on their behalf.

The Kelly Covers Appreciation Thread #1 - Because The Thrill Is Definitely Not Gone!

Title inspired by Kelly's cover of "The Thrill is Gone".

This is a thread to discuss, gush, analyse, or relive Kelly's many "cover songs". And as a huge fan of music herself, we all know she has covered many and loves to do so! So this is the place to discuss them all.

"Concrete Angels" by Martina McBride was just on the radio and I could picture Kelly singing that one.

She has the voice for it that's for sure.

Concrete Angels is a beautiful song.

Kelly could do really well with that.

I think I'd like to see her cover a really powerful song, sort of like Respect, but even more power.

Is it weird that I would love for Kelly to cover an Evanescence song? Amy Lee has a very rich and powerful voice, one I think Kelly can really match. I could so see Kelly singing a song like "Bring Me To Life".

And I'm with you on the "power". Kelly can do that really well. As much as I love her subdued performances, I really like when she spontaneously throws in some power in there. Probably why I so loved her rendition of "Surrender".

i could DEFINITELY see that happening lol..Amy Lee has an awesome powerful voice just like Kelly does, and the song is just really good

Whitney Houston definitely is powerful, just what Kelly should cover.

And Amy Lee's voice is just

And I know Kelly's already covered this before but her version of Mariah's "Love Takes Time" is so beautiful I'd love for her to do it again.

Oh wow, I'll have to post it somehow. That cover was amazing. That and her cover of Garth Brooks "Somewhere Other Than The Night". Absolutely flawless.

i love Mariah Carey

her songs are so nice and she has an awesome voice..i'm sure Kelly would have done a good job on covering that song
