I don't know what the contracts were for but:

Kelly's released six albums (+ a Christmas one) & the Greatest Hits
Carrie's released five albums & a Greatest Hits one

Carrie's last album was released at the end of 2015 so you'd think that article would have said Carrie had one album left if that was the case but it was talking about Kelly so maybe not

Carrie signed with Capital Records last month so idk she was obviously allowed to do that

an amazing song in general but Kelly's version I loved Carrie's version (still do) but Kelly blew me away with it when I first heard it

makes sense if they did make the contracts smaller or at least it wouldn't surprise me

Given the smaller success of the Idol winners I can imagine they didn't want to obligated to make as many albums as they were going to do with Kelly..

I haven't heard Carrie's version yet though!

My two favourite winners and singers. I wish we could get something with them but at least they both seem to be supportive of the other. Could it be because of the comparisons made between them and their AI connection that they have not done a duet together?
