For those in the Newton community, for the families who have lost a loved one, and for all the kids in the country who should feel safe in their own school. Really hitting hard tonight as an elementary teacher...spent the afternoon on lock down at our school for safetly precautions. Way too hard to look into the faces of my 2nd Graders, knowing how innocent they are and what was going on in the country. __________________

I'm sorry you all had to go into lockdown, too. Good precaution, though. I can't imagine trying to explain to such little ones what was going on. I remember 9/11 being in fifth grade and they still had difficulty explaining it to us, even though we were the older kids. __________________
