I was just re-reading an old transcript of a chat Aben and Ashley Arrison (Kelly's friend) did with the fans a while ago, and in it they discuss at length what it's like working with Kelly, as well as writing songs with Kelly.

I still love this part where Aben talks about the moment he first heard the demo versions of Irvine and Sober that Kelly sent him.

i wish there was a way to hear those demos. it sounds like it was very raw and emotional.

i don't think i remember this chat. but this is some cool stuff they talk about. so aben sent her a random track to write to and she ended up making it into irvine?

Wow. I never heard about that either, but that is very neat how floored they both were with the songs. That would be neat to be able to hear the demos.

I think that's my favorite part of the exchange. They both seemed so genuinely floored by the songs.

Irvine is definitely a song that, if a friend of mine sent that to me, I would probably be speechless and moved for a while too. Lyrically, it's so amazing.

maybe one day kelly will do an unreleased tracks album, kinda like oasis did back in the day with all the songs that never made it on records and all their demos. that would be the perfect place to release some of the more raw demos she's done. i'd kill for that!

i don't think rca holds the rights to kelly's songs unless they appear on an album released by them. i think when kelly gets her songs copyrighted, they get copyrighted under her "smelly songs".
