i'd say she's about a 6 or 7.. and that's only because she doesn't do it that often.. as a performer she's like a 100!!

the thing i like about her, is that it seems like there's always a part of her personality that's coming through, whether it be olestra, or brenda lee.. that's just me though..

I agree with you, Val. In SNL, I think she was GREAT, but in other things, you can tell she's not an actress. But with training and more opportunities thrown her way, I think she could be really good.

Performing is her thing. That's such a true statement.

And I agree with the personality thing. She can't hide it. It's always there, and it always shows.

Hmm...This is an interesting question. And I really think it depends on what you base your opinion.

For instance, if you base it on J2K....then I'd say Kelly's acting certainly needs some polishing (even though she has some great moments in there )

But if we base it on her ability to channel the likes of Brenda Lee for example, then that performance was just stellar. She had the mannerism, the tone of voice, everything down perfectly.

I think it depends on several things: material, whether Kelly's heart is into it or not (We all know by now Kelly didn't want to do J2K at all and was contractually forced into it), and whether it is musically inclined.

I think when it's music related, Kelly's much more enthusiastic about it. Like SNL and American Dreams (which all involved her musical abilities as well as her acting abilities). And I personally think she did phenomenally well there. If I were to rank her from those performances I'd give her a big 8-9...but if we rank her based on J2K then I'd say I give her a 5-6.

I think the potential is there. She just needs the good material and opportunities (like American Dreams for example) to showcase it.

I think she did very well in SNL Skits, American Dreams etc. considering she is not an actress.

Andy, I completely agree. We know her heart is into the music part of acting, and it definitely shows. J2K...Well, that's a different story. Even though we all enjoyed its cheese, the acting wasn't the greatest.
