I realized this makes me sound arrogant and cocky. I'm neither, I just know that if I truly wanted to that I could do it. I wrote a book (lesbian, not something that belongs here because of the content) and there were times that other boardies would put in for a chapter and I would write one withing a few minutes. I wrote the book on the board ( MEIN and it was the first aside from poetry) and it isn't in the correct format nor did they publish it correctly even after I hired a professional proofreader, but it sold fairly well...I guess.

This is the one that was written in '87? I think. I was watching the soap opera Anther World and a line in it said the light went out and they were referring to a defendants eyes. It went from there. I'm friends on Facebook with the actress who played the defendant back then and, yes, she has seen the poem.


The Light Went Out

The light went out
You could see it in her face
The stony stare
The way she stood in place
The tears never fell
The eyes were dead
Not once though
Did she bow her head
She never moved
Her heart was broken
"I hate you"
Were the words spoken

A winter's snow
