I do not remember the start of a new year being so stressful before. It doesn't help that we don't have enough staff, a lot of us don't want to be there anymore, people aren't working as a team, & then you have parents & children needing attention but there's only so many hands. But at least now my boss fiddled around with the roster & has hopefully eased the mornings. They aren't my problem anymore though as instead of doing 8-4 shifts I'm now doing 9-5. I'd rather my other shift but at least its still a consistent shift (mostly, I've got to do a 10-6 every second Monday)
I so need to get a new job :bawl:

 how are the plans going with your drivers' license and moving away?

it sound bad yes! though 9-5 sounds better than 10-6 'cause you'll be home at such a late time..

Currently we have a lot of sick people at work too!
Though I've decided I'm not going to work 'extra' as much as I did the last two years..
I felt exhausted all year long and now that I'm just working my hours and a good solid days off I feel more rested in between shifts..

shinebrighterxx 02-07-2020 03:38 AM

At the end of my last lesson the instructor had some good feedback for me. I'm making progress over the last few weeks, seems like I will be teachable . In my first 5-10 minutes I'm still anxious & forget everything, but the rest of my lesson I'm mostly fine. I'm figuring things out. But still don't imagine I'll have the confidence & knowledge any time soon. I'm presuming May/June at the earliest.

Even 9-5 I won't get home until 5:30/5:45 so still a bit late... at least for me

You need to look after yourself. Yes shifts need covering, & people need to be looked after, but if you don't take care of you then you're useless. Sounds like a good plan to me to not work extra

TFTNT :)

heartღaflutter 02-07-2020 03:41 AM

how many lesssons do you have a week?
Well it's good that there is some progress! :yay:
I think it took me a year too (with 1 lesson each week) before I got to do an exam! It's definitely something that you need to grow in and learn to have confidence in

yeah that is a bit late yes, I'm usually home around 4:15 when I have dayshifts! :)

do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

yeah I only work extra if it doesn't make my schedule like crap

shinebrighterxx 02-07-2020 03:51 AM

I just do the one on Saturday as I can't trust when I'll get out of work/home to book any then. Plus after some of my days I have no place being behind the wheel learning to drive :P. Now I've changed shift though so maybe I can work something out for before work... even if its just every second Monday when I've got the later shift...

It does take time, & tomorrow will only be my 12th lesson & the lessons are only an hour long. The first lesson was longer but I didn't really do much driving in it, it was more learning. In that first lesson I was told it can take around 20-30 lessons to be ready to attempt the driving test. I presume I'll be needing the 30 but we'll see

No. Its meant to rain so somehow go grocery shopping without getting too wet? I've got my driving lesson & a doctors appointment tomorrow. I also injured my foot last week so going to see if they've got my ultrasound results back (which they should as I had it done on Saturday, they're just hopeless & haven't told me to come in) so will probably see another doctor (unless I'm wrong about them having my results as maybe they're lost somewhere). I presume all I've done to my foot is pulled or strained the muscle. Nothing serious. I can walk on it, it didn't swell or bruise or anything. It just hurts, or hurt

How about you? Or is it a working weekend?

heartღaflutter 02-07-2020 05:29 AM

yeah I had around 30-35 too!
Do you drive automatic or with a stick?

We have to learn by stick here... you can do automatic if you're having trouble with the stick but when you get that license you're only allowed to drive an automatic car
when you get the other license you can drive both

too bad about your ankle and the pain  how did you get the injury?

has it been raining a lot now in Australia?

No a weekend off for me, boyfriend has to work sunday and tomorrow we have 2 birthday parties!
So Sunday no plans, just relaxing :D

Been busy the past few days and posting has been rather sporadic.

I plan to relax Sunday too, I hope.

Laundry tomorrow and a bit of grocery shopping.

shinebrighterxx 02-08-2020 01:46 AM

I'm driving automatic. That's complicated enough for me, don't need to worry about stick . Here you can learn from either, but if you pass your test on an automatic for the next level in the learning system you can't drive a manual. But on the final learning level you can then. So it has some similarities to your system with the restrictions

I was carrying one child I'd just separated from a parent to comfort them, while following another to try separate/settle them when my foot twisted. The playground needs to be fixed/upgraded, it has little dips in it which are perfect for feet to get caught in. I know they're there but I was paying more attention to the children than thinking about them so stepped in one. They're only slight dips, but its enough. My foot went sideways, but seems that I didn't cause any visible damage so that's good. Pain is gone now too which is good

At least on the east coast of Australia we've been hit with a bit of rain. Strong winds here too. Unfortunately its too much rain at once & just causing flooding. We need the rain but we need it to actually help. We don't ask for much, I promise :P

Enjoy the weekend off & the parties :D A relaxing Sunday sounds like a good plan to me

B ē tt ⓨ 02-08-2020 01:59 AM

It's been pouring down rain here for like 4 days. It won't stop!

heartღaflutter 02-08-2020 09:16 AM

that's crazy Betty! We are expected to get heavy winds and a slight storm tomorrow!!

sounds like a relaxing sunday Betty! You're free to join us for our listen/watch party tomorrow! :D

well boyfriend has an automatic now, so i had to get used to that a lot... but it is relaxing once you drive it, never worrying about changing gears and such

oh that sounds painful Chelle! sometimes those small trips can be the most painful in the end

haha... the soil needs to get used to the rain again, I hope you guys it continues to rain!
Are the fires easing down? There isn't much news coverage anymore

shinebrighterxx 02-08-2020 06:20 PM

It started raining here on Thursday & its forecast to continue to rain at least through to next Saturday. The worst of it is today & some of the days have lower chances of rain than others

Right now I'm somewhere in the middle of all of this... somewhere under all that rain is land/the coast & the ocean

It was painful when it happened & for days after  But glad it was nothing serious

The fires are easing, but they've also spread across the country you could say as now the west coast is dealing with fires. There's still some in my state & unfortunately the rain isn't in those areas I don't think.

heartღaflutter 02-09-2020 12:14 AM

oh that's a shame :(

well a rain forecast is good.. though not if it's gonna cause flooding, let's hope the soil absorbs the water soon

B ē tt ⓨ 02-09-2020 02:35 AM

We've had such bad flooding here, three young friends, ages 19 to 21, were washed off the road in their GMC truck, and drowned in the river they were driving along. The truck was in the river, it had crashed into a tree. :(

A second story from a few hours away has a search, ongoing for a man washed off the side of the road in currents of water, they still haven't found him.

heartღaflutter 02-09-2020 03:13 AM

oh man that's so sad :( I hate stories like that...

B ē tt ⓨ 02-09-2020 04:33 PM

It's rather depressing, especially because they still can't find that one missing person. :(

On a lighter note, it's Oscars Sunday, is anyone tuning in?

I'm watching red carpet arrivals.
