I have insomnia issues, so it sucks but work is part time.

I'm semi retired and am more of a fill in than a regular. Long story short, I had a car accident about 8 years ago now and it did something to discs in my back, so I can't sit at a desk or perform regular physical work duties for long periods of time, so I was forced to have to retire and only work on occasion, like someone is sick etc.

Which is why I always have so many shows to catch up on, I can't just sit through them, I sit some, walk around, etc..

oh wow Betty, that's so bad that an accident made your back hurt so much, even years later...
I assume surgery is not something that is gonna make it better?
I usually hear back surgeries don't always make injuries like that any better..

are the insomnia issues also due to the accident?

Betty, I hope that you can get some help for your insomnia. That has to be really rough.

No, no surgery to really fix it, at the chance of being paralyzed. Not something I want to risk. It's not horrible pain or chronic, but it can worsen if I prolong certain activities, hence at the advice of my doctor, semi-retiring.

Insomnia is not due to the accident, actually I had it prior, anxiety and OCD are what seems to cause some of the anxiety and weather or time of year.

I have days where I eat crap too but try to be good for the most part.

Do you get by just fine with this semi-retirement? Or do you get funds?

oh man that insomnia sounds poorly too any sleep medication wouldn't help you either?

I was eating pizza. Which I also ate today.

Swear, February I'm doing myself a solid and just sticking to my guts as much as possible. Gonna try to eat clean.

it's difficult sometimes, especially when you're busy you tend to go for 'easy food'
Though i do enojy trying out recipes so when I"m off I try to do that as much as possible.

Yeah, convenience at the sake of healthy eating is bad.

My mom's husband is in the hospital. Rough start to the month already. Let's hope the rest of it goes well.

Luckily it wasn't a heart attack, but it was a precursor to something like a stroke, I think. Luckily he didn't suffer any major complications, but they have to keep an eye on him diet wise and stuff.

I'm sick, so sorry if I'm not around as much this weekend, I'll try to be on periodically.

I do not remember the start of a new year being so stressful before. It doesn't help that we don't have enough staff, a lot of us don't want to be there anymore, people aren't working as a team, & then you have parents & children needing attention but there's only so many hands. But at least now my boss fiddled around with the roster & has hopefully eased the mornings. They aren't my problem anymore though as instead of doing 8-4 shifts I'm now doing 9-5. I'd rather my other shift but at least its still a consistent shift (mostly, I've got to do a 10-6 every second Monday)
I so need to get a new job
