Breakaway Discussion Thread #2 - It's this year's Energizer Bunny!

This album will never cease to amaze me. Just this week it was bumped back into the top 20 according to preliminary reports of sales numbers. And Worldwide it is reported to have sold nearly 10 million copies, making the album DIAMOND!


So to celebrate the wonderful success this album has had, and also to revive a thread that many were fond of, here's a little survey.

I totally agree about Because Of You being the song I can relate to as well. Such a sad but beautiful song.

- I purchased it the first day it came out, way back in 2004

What was your favorite song on the album when you bought it?

- Addicted and Because of You were tied for favorites for me.

What is your favorite song from the album now?

- Still Addicted

What has been your favorite video from Breakaway?

- Behind These Hazel Eyes...I loved the concept and I love how visually stunning it was.

Which song do you wish had been released but hasn't been yet?

- Definitely Addicted

Which song do you relate to the most and why?

- Because of You....it reminds me of my childhood.

Would you like Kelly's third album to resemble Breakaway or be more different?

- Along the lines of Breakaway for sure. If she adds a rockier sound, I'm all for it

Did you prefer Breakaway or Thankful?

- I much prefered Breakaway, although I love both albums for different reasons.

Wow, this will never cease to amaze me!

On the World Charts Top 50 Selling Albums Kelly Clarkson remains in the top 10 - UP 3 spots this week with sales of 130,000: 8 11 72 Breakaway Kelly Clarkson [130 600 ] Breakaway is in it's 72nd week of release - remarkably 25 weeks longer than any other album on the World Chart. It is the second best selling album on the World Chart, only surpassed by James Blunts Back To Bedlam. 3 more remarkable achievements for Kelly Clarkson and Breakaway. To put this monster albums success in perspective Madonnas COAD is at #18, and dropping, in only it's 23rd week of release - 2 million copies behind Breakaway, and Mariahs TEOM is completely OFF the chart and was surpassed by Breakaway a month ago in total sales in it's 48th week of release. Breakaway is still rising on many european, asian charts, and south american charts. It is concievable this album can sell 14+ million copies worldwide before Clarkson releases her next album - probably in early 2007.

it would be amazing if she reached 14 million. is it really doable though? she's losing momentum right now and it's to be expected but she's got a ways to go before reaching 14 million.

I had seen the video of this (It was on a German Kelly site once) but had totally forgotten about it. It's really a great video. I'll see if I can find it again.
