P.S. I didn't put all the rumored info in the OP, since we don't really need that anymore. I just kept the basic stuff.

And tomorrow I will make a section for links to all the reviews. That way if anyone missed any from the Spoiler thread, they'll be able to catch up.

*cracks knuckles* Okay, just got the CD, now I'm typing up a review as I listen. So bear with me.

My Life Would Suck Without You: Still loving this song. It's got a great hook, and it's very radio-friendly. 9/10

I Do Not Hook Up: I'm LOVING THIS SONG! The message is awesome, so props to Katy Perry/Kara Dioguardi for putting it a way that's fun and sassy. Her vocals are mad, too. I'm glad they changed the lyrics to fit Kelly. "Hand in my hand," sounds so much better. 9.5/10

Cry: *sniffles* This song is gorgeous! *flails* It did have a bit of a country feel to it at first listen, but now I get more of a BoY type feel. Her vocals from 2:32- 2:44... 10/10

[b]Don't Let Me Stop You: Kelly had me at first note. This song is awesome! The chorus is catchy. *bops around* I think this could easily be one of my favorites. My favorite line has to be, "If this is not what you're looking for; nice knowing you, there's the door." *nods* 10/10

All I Ever Wanted: Ah, the title track. Love the beat to the song. It's a very cool, smooth sound. Oh, it picks up at the chorus. That's pretty cool. :o I like the bridge a lot. Good song, not my favorite though. 9/10

Already Gone: omg, I love this song! *flails* Kinda sad, though. *cuddles Kelly* 10/10

If I Can't Have You: It's a fun song, and I can see it played a lot in clubs and whatever, but it's not my favorite. The first couple of lines are awesome, though. *nods* 9/10

Save You: I love this song, too! *cuddles* I like how her voice sounds on it. It sounds familiar to me, though, and it's bugging me. Hmm. The end bugs me, too, for some strange reason. But still. It's a great song. 9.5/10

Whyyawannabringmedown: Omg, when did Kelly join Warped Tour? This song is very punk influenced, but goodness, she is SLAYING this song. Not sure about her singing, "love monkey." I think Kelly was right when she said that Whyyawanna was gonna be a love/hate song. I fall into the first part, but it's not my favorite song, not by far. 8.5/10

Long Shot: At times, I thought I was listening to Katy Perry, but other then that, no complaints. I like it. Not my favorite. 8.5/10.

Impossible: Wow, my first thought at the beginning of this song was, "Kelly's doing techno too!?" But then it hits right before the first lines to sound more rock. I love the lyrics! 8.5/10

Ready: I kind of liked the demo version better, but this is growing on me. It's weird not hearing it without the profanities. But I do like it. 9/10

I Want You: Man, this sounds a lot like an Amy Winehouse/Duffy type song. That's awesome, cause I love them both. And Kelly, too, but I'll assume you know that already. But yeah, I do like it. It's very candy, though. 9/10

If No One Will Listen: Her voice is beautiful, and it really shows in this song. I like how this song didn't have much production done to it. Simple was a good thing in this case. 10/10

The Day We Fell Apart: This song reminds me of The Veronicas. It's catchy, not my favorite though. 8/10.

Tip of My Tongue: I like the R&B type sound it's got. Wow, Kelly's hitting every genre with this CD, isn't she? 9/10.

Can We Go Back: THIS. I love this song! D": Why it didn't make it on the album, I have no clue, cause this is probably my favorite! 10/10.

Overall: The album is more amazing then I thought it would be. Kelly keeps me on my toes, man. It's so DIVERSE! I think it's my favorite album that she's done thus far.

I'm completely with you there. It sounds very much like a One Republic song, which, considering Ryan Tedder cowrote it, that shouldn't be surprising, but from the first notes, that was my thought. That isn't a bad thing though. I still really like the song, especially the piano in the bridge. Josh Groban did that in one of his songs also and that was my favorite part of that song also.

Yeah, I thought so, too. It's got a lot of Ryan Tedder influence in it, not kidding. The piano in the bridge was awesome. I love this album. The wait was soooo worth it. *clings*

Review: Kelly Clarkson's "All I Ever Wanted" on Hitfix

Quote:
Review: Kelly Clarkson's "All I Ever Wanted"
Posted by Melinda Newman

Kelly Clarkson's new CD, "All I Ever Wanted," should be mandatory listening for every female between the ages of 12-34.

On many songs, Clarkson truly turns into "Miss Independent"-She's not about to let any man take advantage of her.

On "I Do Not Hook Up" (written by Katy Perry and "American Idol" judge Kara Dioguardi, BTW), she warns her buddy with a drinking problem to look somewhere else besides the bottle and her bed if he's looking for something serious. On the title track, she asserts, "I'll fall a thousand times before I let you drag me down."

First single, "My Life Would Suck Without You," which set a record for biggest jump to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 when it soared from No. 97 to No. 1, showed that her fans wanted their Idol back and were willing to forgive her going her own way on 2007's "My December." (For all the talk of the album being a failure, it still sold 2.5 million copies around the world. Not too shabby).

For "All I Ever Wanted," she's back in the mainstream pop pocket, working with such producers and songwriters as Dr. Luke, Max Martin, Howard Benson, Ryan Tedder (of OneRepublic fame), Sam Watters and the previously mentioned Perry and Dioguardi.

The result is a 14-song collection, out March 10, that spans the pop from sugar pop to power ballads, dance, power pop and rock. Vocally, Clarkson has never sounded better. She belts when she needs to, but is never afraid to show a little restraint and tenderness when it's warranted.

Now, with more than 16 million albums sold and some tough career knocks behind her, Clarkson stretches on her most versatile album so far. The mid-tempo ballad, "Already Gone," one of the album's strongest tracks, sounds like one of the best songs Beyonce never cut. It's a different, dreamier type of production for Clarkson but it suits her beautifully. She doesn't over sing it and the steady beat anchors the track without ever overpowering it. Similarly, we hear a new side of Clarkson on "Ready," a bright song that sounds like a cut off Sara Bareilles' album. Clarkson channels her inner Britney on dance track "If I Can't Have You," replete with breathy vocals. But her voice, of course, runs rings around Spears' vocals. Despite all these comparisons and the sometimes generic nature of the songs (many of them could just as easily be performed by Pink, Perry or Leona Lewis), Clarkson manages to put her stamp on each song.

There are a few missteps on the CD. Nothing lethal, but the project as a whole would have been stronger without the inclusion of "Whyyawannabringmedown," which is a about as irritating as how the title is written. She's channeling her inner punk rocker, but it doesn't work. Clarkson can pull off edgy, but a rockergrrrl, she's not. The ultra-poppy "I Want You" has a nice girl-group vibe, but it doesn't play to Clarkson's strengths.

Between the bouncy tracks, there are the "message" songs, which are different sides of the same coin: On "Save You," Clarkson wishes she could help someone but she's already moved on. Conversely, Clarkson goes all Whitney on the closing track, "If No One Will Listen." This time, she's singing about about how she will believe in you until you can believe in yourself. To her credit, she sells every note of both songs.

You only received that if you pre-ordered the album on iTunes. I'm not sure if it was a US only pre-order bonus.. . Might have been.

Once someone has a hard copy of the Deluxe Version could you let me know if anything more is on it than what iTunes gave us? I'm still sort of debating on getting a hard copy of the Deluxe or regular. It would be kind of nice to have the standard cover, but I do really like the extra songs. If there are some extra things on the hard copy Deluxe, like a photo gallery, then I'll just get that one.
