According to this. Lily was murdered not long after that party. When Logan tells the story to the counselor, he blamed Veronica for breaking them apart with Yolanda's story.

yup.. cus they were fighting cus of his kiss with yolanda so they werent together the weekend lilly died

Yes, that's why it was included in the story.
But wouldn't have Lilly ditched Logan (in the next days) anyway? Or would hung out with him in the school again?

Of course she ditched Logan after the party. She was washing cars with Veronica and telling her.. i have a secreeet.. she was banging Aaron.

yea there were plenty of ways for logan and lilly to not be together that weekend anyways.. like lilly would probably just straight up lie to him and probably seen aaron anyways.. but of course logan needs something/someone to blame

That's true too. Lily would have invented anything to be free to go to San Diego or be with Weevil or be with Aaron.
