Sorry about that! I just went and posted the news without looking first.

Someone over at TV.com pointed out that in the second paragraph there's a mention of a third season.

It still hasn't been confirmed, so...

Really? From what I've heard from many sources is that the cast has been told that there is definately a third season ... But I guess that still would count as not being offically confirmed for us.

But yay! S2 DVDs! And in August! That's awesome, we won't have to wait until September like most shows! Woot. I'm hoping the gag reel stays there, because a lot of DVDs promise gag reels, but there isn't one. And I would love a cast commentary! I just love those so much.

I e-mailed Gord Lacey creator of TVShowsonDVD and he added a third paragraph about the mention of a third season.

Quote:
We've had a number of people email to ask us where the information about the third season came from since no pickup has been announced. A couple people thought we made it up (silly people), but most of you know we wouldn't do that. The information came from a retailer who kindly forwarded the announcement email he received from Warner Bros. The exact wording used was "Release timing tied to Season Three premiere on the CW." It's likely the people at Warner Bros Home Video have some advanced knowledge that the show was picked up for the new network, but we'll have to wait until the upfronts for it to be confirmed. Most people following TV-on-DVD releases know that the studios like to leave a few weeks between the release of a season set and the premiere of the next season so fans have a chance to catch up; The CW won't even be broadcasting until early September.

Yup, date change... more info available here.

And the season 1 set only had deleted scenes. No gag reels, commentaries, featurettes...
