Hello! I desperately missed a thread where we could discuss unanswered questions - things that are implied, but never explained in the series, or things we still wonder about all those years later. Speculation is fun!

I have some questions I will ask here, and hope someone is either more observant than me and have picked up something I haven't, or have any theories about what the answer could be. And of course, I hope people post their own questions to ponder over!

1. What was up with the Mannings and Woody? They seemed to know about the abuse before the authorities did. They bailed out Lucky from prison, and they were also the ones to offer the 20,000 dollar reward for Woody's capture. From what we see in the show, they only have daughters, and Woody seemed to only have molested boys. BUT: In season 3, Veronica ponders if certain traits and skills run in families, and she mentions that the Mannings had produced a long line of quarterbacks. I guess that means that either Meg has a brother we don't hear about (or, of course, cousins), or Woody has been at it for a long time - so that potentially her father, uncle or so forth could have been molested by him (but he doesn't seem that old).

2. How did Mercer get away with recording his show? When Mercer first emerges as the Hearst rapist suspect, Veronica discovers that his show was on air for several of the rapes. But she says he could've recorded it in advance, to which Piz replies that that is unlikely, as the show is a call-in show. At the party in 3x09, Veronica of course realises his show is in fact taped in that instance, as the recording skips at one point. But we never find out how he managed to record shows without anyone being suspicious. Certainly, the callers would know when they had phoned in, and find it weird their call was aired days or even weeks later? Or did they just not react to the show not being live? (I don't think he recorded every show, just some of them, which means that it was sometimes live with callers and sometimes recorded with old callers.) OH, and: Piz says Mercer's show is the next up after his, and he uses the main radio studio which is visible from the cafeteria. Did Mercer use a different studio? Because if not, it seems too weird that no one would react to him not being there during shows.

3. Was Beaver adopted? This might be common knowledge - but I noticed that on the roof in 2x22, Veronica says Beaver's father was "a mechanic" and that's how he managed to rig the whole thing, and why he knew Curly. Earlier in the season, when their mother visits, I get the impression she is the mother of both of them - but it is never said that Dick sr. is only Dick's father, or am I mistaken?

4. What was the Fitzpatrick's thought behind "placing" Kendall with the 09ers? Or was their relationship quite distant, as in, she had her own life but was sporadically in touch with them?

I asked some of these questions in the season 2-thread, but I only got one answer from someone who didn't really remember these particular things, and I figured it would be a good thing to have a separate thread just for those questions we wonder about.
