I don't want Lamb to be more like MM at all. That would take part of the fun out of Lamb.

Lamb needs to be an ass, because he's a foil to Veronica and Keith.

I agree. I wouldn't mind more backstory so maybe we could know a little bit more about why Lamb's an ass, but I wouldn't want him to change become nicer...I can definitely see the development of where he's smarter than we thought since he apparently is already manipulating the system by blackmailing favors from people like Terrence Cook and probably others for his own political gain. I really wonder how many schemes to gain money and power he has going on behind the scenes and if we'll find out more in S3. While Lamb seems to like the perks of 'big fish/little pond', he definitely appears to have more ambition than wanting to retire comfortably on a Sheriff's pension and scrape by.

Rowanlove--exactly. I want to know something more about Lamb and his issues with child abuse.

I'm also interested to see if Lamb does anything else underhanded with the political process.

I'm usually lurking around here. But since you were all looking for people, I thought I'd say hello. I never have too much to add.

I love Lamb just the way he is. Wouldn't mind seeing him getting the bad guys before the Mars sometimes though... just for the sake of balance.

I think I'd die of shock if Lamb actually did something right--it would be a new and strange feet.

Of course, if he actually tried to do his job and took it more seriously, then it wouldn't be so weird.

That's exactly why we should see more moments like the end of NPBiaC (not too much though)... to keep us guessing, not to let us ever know how he's gonna react to a situation. It's much more fun that way.

I agree, Caro. I just might fall over if Lamb did something right just because he knew it was right, and had no political motives.

Hee. Maybe Lamb would do the right thing just to see the look of stunned amazement that would cross Veronica's face.

That would be funny, too.

If Lamb solved the first mystery instead of Veronica, it would be a big shock.

Given that I heard they won't skip much time (ie, won't be fast forwarded to beginning of school) when S3 starts, my spec based on Lamb's character is that he'll accuse Logan and Veronica of conspiring to kill Aaron. Since they both actually do have motive and of course are the most convenient suspects for Lamb, I could see this happening. I don't know any actual spoilers and I'm staying away from them this season, but Lamb is one for going to for the easy suspect, that's for sure!

I hadn't thought about the potential fallout from Aaron's death making it into the start of S3, but just based on what we saw at the end of S2, I think that even Lamb would know to stay away from accusing LV of killing Aaron. I'm sure Lamb was well aware of what happened on the roof and the hotel, and can't see Lamb suggesting that after watching Cassidy fall to his death, Logan and Veronica went down and shot Aaron in the head.

Of course, Lamb could surprise me and be a jack@ss like always.

Hee. See? Like Veronica, I wouldn't be surprised because I start with an already low opinion of Lamb's behavior and I'm just surprised when he's NOT a jacka@@. I didn't think he'd accuse L/V of actually killing Aaron, but since it looked like a professional hit, I can see him accusing them of hiring someone to do it. Lamb wouldn't think of Duncan because Lamb would assume that Duncan doesn't have those kind of connections on the run, plus Lamb wouldn't assume Duncan knew that Aaron was acquitted.

Spoiler:
The first mystery is the Hearst campus rapist, I bet Veronica will work her ass off to catch him because she's been raped herself, so it's important for her. Although Lamb did quite a good job on that one last season.

I think Lamb will get a bit better in S3 (let's hope so), or at least that he manages to get the right bad guy in at least a couple of cases he hasn't managed many this far, except for the E-string strangler (that Keith helped him with) and Weevil "killing" Thumper, and of course Woody (the Mars family helped him a lot there too). It seems like he won't look further into things, he just wants to solve the cases quick and keep his nose out of things like the Fitzpatricks (although there would be a lot interesting stuff there). I wonder how he will react when it comes out Veronica and Logan were there when Beaver died, if he will buy Veronicas story about the bus crash and the rape and Woody abusing Cassidy, or if he just can't take a 18 year old girl solving his cases. I hope he'll stop hating Veronica soon, because then maybe she would trust him more and they could help each other.

I don't even know that Lamb would accuse them of the hit either. I think Lamb's pretty aware that Logan and Aaron didn't get along at all. I think the easier thing to do with Aaron is just leave it as a homicide and let it fall by the wayside. Trying to figure out who ordered the hit wouldn't help anyone, as Logan's got no interest in knowing how made his life easier.

Of course, Lamb could just poke around with the case to make Logan's life hell, which I could see being very amusing.
