| I've finally managed to catch up! I watched the next couple eps though, so hopefully I don't get mixed up...Quote:
I think that was also one of the first examples of the way the show could completely twist your expectations around and give you something totally unexpected, which I think is great.I liked the Keith/Rebecca relationship, although I could completely understand why Veronica acted the way she did in the strange situation she found herself in. But I thought the two of them were a pretty cute couple, and I loved their break-up scene, hee. Logan with the football in that scene is random ![]()

| Is 1x06 the one with the missing neighbour? Oh and just watched 1x05 and totally loved Troy. Untill he snapped at Wallace for reason. ![]() __________________ "Now you guys get of me and do each other" FC to JD & RH at Breakout Beyond LJ Icon by me - pic credit | |||

| Thanks Roz! Hmm, Wanda. You guys were talking about V not trusting people because of guys like Troy. I think Wanda can be placed in that category. She's nice to V, but plotting behind her back. And, I didn't really like her, she was a bit over the top. __________________ "Now you guys get of me and do each other" FC to JD & RH at Breakout Beyond LJ Icon by me - pic credit | |||

| This is also the episode where we find out about Aaron abusing Logan. The scene where he's picking out the belt.. ![]() | |||

The stuff with Logan is also really hard to take. I can't really listen to "Ventura Highway" without cringing at the idea of Logan being beaten. __________________ Icon credit--Do not snag.

The Logan/Aaron stuff is so powerful in this episode. Aaron really creeps me out when he gets angry and I felt so bad for Logan at the end when he's picking out the belt ![]()

| I have to say I didn't completely get the resolution with the Wanda storyline when I first watched it, i.e. that she basically tried to sabotage Veronica. I was definitely being slow when it came to that one I liked her character at the beginning of the ep since it showed us someone else who was willing to stand up for the under-privileged of the school, but she obviously didn't go about it in the right way at all. Another character twist that was nicely done, I think.I do love the Logan scenes in this ep very much. Plus the introduction of Aaron is very creepy, but not in such a way that it ever occurred to be that he could be the killer. The scene when Logan creeps into the house is not nice, but that last scene with him picking out the belt is horrible - poor Logan! I thought the way they did it was really well done though, with the mood of the music almost serving as a complete contrast to what was actually happening in the scene. And it's great that we got to see this side to Logan's character and why he probably acts the way he does - it definitely endeared him to a lot of us then, I think ![]() | |||

| On first watch, I kinda thought there was something off about Wanda but I wasn't sure what til the resolution - she just seemed a little *too* perfectly anti conformist, you know? The kind of character in another show who would be the scrappy little udnerdog who wins the election by a landslide...but because this is VM, there's something else to it and more to her than meets the eye. And yeah, I agree it's people like Wanda as well as Troy who contribute to Veronica's difficulty in trusting people. I liked the twist that Duncan really was the better candidate. I like seeing little flashes of back story and some personality in the guy. As a character, on the whole I don't find him terribly interesting, but getting glimpses of him as an actual person rather than just this idea of a guy V used to date is always nice. And it was nice to see that even though the poular choice with the 09ers won, he actually wanted to try to do some good. The scenes with Logan were...just wow. So powerful. And Lynn sitting there with her martini (?) glass, looking kinda numb and blatantly being able to hear her son being beaten, but just unable to do anything... And I agree that though Aaron was made to appear sinister, I would never have guessed he was Lilly's killer if I hadn't looked it up on wiki (I couldn't resist).. The second time I watched this, I watched it with my friend who'd never seen it before. Prior to this episode, she was convinced Logan was a complete jerk, and then she saw the scenes between him and Aaron and she was like..ohhhhh... If I didn't make a whole lot of sense there, it might be because I only had 3 hours sleep last night. Will try to post something more coherent later. | |||

But--now that we talked about that, why don't we move on to "The Girl Next Door"... __________________ Icon credit--Do not snag.

I don't really like the mystery, though it's clever how opens with the ending to the mystery and we work back from that. The episode is saved for me by the Weevil/Logan scenes which I love.
