Case File 3 - 14: "Mars, Bars"
Without any evidence to hold her, Sheriff Lamb (Michael Muhney) releases Veronica (Kristen Bell) from jail. Josh (guest star Jonathan Chase), makes contact with Veronica and insists that he is being framed for his father's murder and, though Veronica has sympathy for him, she doesn't know if she believes him.
Keith (Enrico Colantoni) learns that the coach's wife, Kathleen Barry (guest star Tracey Needham), hired Vinnie Van Lowe (guest star Ken Marino, "Reno 911") to find out if her husband was having an affair. Meanwhile, Logan (Jason Dohring) joins Mac (Tina Majorino) and Parker (Julie Gonzalo) on a Valentine's Day scavenger hunt. Percy Daggs, Francis Capra, Ryan Hansen and Chris Lowell also star. Harry Winer directed the episode with story by Joe Voci, Phil Klemmer, John Enbom and teleplay by Phil Klemmer and John Embom. __________________

I am in shock... didn't expect Lamb to say goodbye to us tonight. I am so sad... I will miss him so much SO MUCH! But wow great twist for the show. I will miss Lamb for sure but wow, I am in shock and I am like "did Rob really kill Lamb?".
Wow Mac and her new boyfriend... so cute Oh and Logan and Mac's roomate. Big no no for me... isn't she supposed to be Veronica's friend also. When will people (on TV mostly) understand that it is not OK to date your friend ex? But Veronica didn't seem too hurt by it. More like ok time to move on... maybe some Piz action? Now that would be nice!! Oh I still love Logan with all my heart and I will love him forever with or without Veronica. Logan owns my heart! __________________

I read about it like, an hour before the episode. Otherwise, I'd be in complete shock as well.

I did not see that coming at all! I'll admit, I'm not a Lamb fan, but I didn't expect him to die in the least bit. Interesting twist...can't wait to see what comes of it.
Another shock for me was Mac and Bronson having sex! I'm excited for Mac and glad she got past her libido problem. I'm still a little suspicious of Bronson, but I think this show brings that side out in me. I'm hoping for the best though. I hate to sound like a broken record, but I'm going to say this again anyway...where's Wallace. At least this week he got two small scenes compared to the one he got last week. I was semi-spoiled about Logan and Parker so I'm not really surprised, but I don't like it at all. Besides the fact that I'm a LoVe fan, I think it's really crappy on Parker's part. IMO, you don't date your friend's exes, especially if they've only been apart for about two weeks. You just don't do it. Logan visiting Veronica in jail was awesome. I said on a different page that I would love to see a scene like that and I got my wish There's still some lingering looks between these two so as long as I get that then I'll be happy for a while. Overall, I thought it was a great episode with a lot going on. I originally thought that the coach's murder would be related to the dean's, but I guess not My favorite part of the episode is when the Valentine scavenger hunt leads the gang to the kama sutra and LP poses and Logan immediately realizes that they were doing a different pose...I was hysterical! __________________

Veronica's in jail after Josh escaped using the peanut butter cookies Veronica baked(he's allergic to peanuts), so while she's stewing, Keith's investigating both Dean O'Dell's murder and the basketball coach's murder, and Logan joins Parker, Mac, and Bronson in a Valentine's Day scavenger hunt and finish third(not to mention, Mac getting her groove back, and Parker and Logan possibly becoming more than friends). When Veronica's bailed out, Josh pulls her aside and shows her that he has Mason in the trunk of his own car. Veronica convinces him to release Mason. But eventually, it turns out that the coach chose to take his own life, as he just learned he had a brain disease.
The O'Dell investigation took some major turns: -Landry claimed to watch a Clippers game until Mindy came to the room. Since the Clippers games moves regularly scheduled programming back an hour(interesting use of meta by RT, since VM seems to premepted by basketball somewhere), it moves O'Dell's time of death to 3:30am, according to the testimony of the drunk student. -Lamb was hit with a baseball bat by Mindy's ex-husband(who Sacks apparently killed), and eventually died from his wounds in the hospital. Thus, Keith is named acting sheriff by the county commissioner until a special election can be held(presumably on my part, since the next scene after Veronica and Keith learned about Lamb's death, Keith is now sheriff). -Weevil found some bloody clothes in the boiler room with Landry's initials on the shirt, so it looks like Landry did it, but we know RT has a twist somewhere. Episode grade: 10/10 It was surprising that they'd kill off Lamb. Wallace did get a good smackdown in when Veronica was released, throwing the "go see the wizard" line from the pilot back in Lamb's face. Next week: Wrapping up the O'Dell case. __________________
