I really enjoyed the LV aspects of this ep and can I just say it's "never" all been about L/V. Not even close - least onscreen. Over the course of two seasons we usually not only miss the key moments, we miss the relationship itself LOL! We've missed two summers and I felt this was the first time we've ever dove really full force into seeing them as a couple play out onscreen. And after two eps I didn't think it was bad to actually put more focus on them. I was thinking finally! And I thought both characters were totally in character and I thought the storyline was a good way of putting their issues out on the table.

Some scattered thoughts while the ep is still fresh in my mind: No Mac, Wallace, and Parker. Piz didn't bug too much in this episode since he was mostly on the periphery and only served the purpose of getting the football player's case to Veronica but the fast talking? It can kinda get annoying. The playbook case kind of dragged to me but I liked the purpose it served in the end. Veronica always seems to get these 'realization' moments out of her smaller cases and I liked the one she came to at the end of this case, that she could lose the man she loves over a stupid mistake. Ooh...and she actually Logan her boyfriend a couple of times in this episode. And yes, once it was in the VO or twice if you count significant other, but she did say to Trish "My boyfriend....". Ooh and yay for Weevil! I've missed him. I'm sad that he didn't get to keep his job at MI though. When I heard about that in spoilers, I really thought that the Keith-Weevil partnership would last more than one ep, or one scene even. But then again, I did know that Weevil would be getting a job at Hearst.

I actually liked the episode and LOVED the ending. It was nice to hear Veronica talk about her trust issues and to see them make up. Sometimes I like to see my shows end with the fluffy stuff.

Loved the ep except for the sucky flashbacks.
Veronica and Logan trying to work out their issues together? FINALLY! I don't mind the angst, as long as they don't break-up over nothing. __________________

Dick was funny in his brief moment in the ep, "I don't know what that means but this is college - maybe someone will teach me."
V was great when she was busted trying to copy the playbook. Beyond that the linebacker story didn't do much for me. It was nice that it got V to realize she was going to really mess things up if she didn't work on it and explain herself. It was definitely time to focus a little more on LV and brewing issues. I'm glad V had a moment of honesty, Logan didn't let her off too easily which he is often accused of doing ("what is beyond pathological?" or something like that). However, they talked about the problems (but didn't beat it to death), and they both made an effort to stay connected. V said trust didn't come naturally and she was working on that and Logan didn't go to Mexico and offered to go to the film festival he had no interest in for her. It was great. Why did Ed Begley, Jr./ the Dean remind me of Milton from Office Space?! I feel mean saying this but was I the only one that thought Weevil/FC had gained weight? This episode REALLY solidified my dislike of Piz. His delivery frustrates me - it's fast, it's mumbly, it's flamboyant, and over the top goofy. He can go away at any time. __________________

Oh and I just noticed...it seems like Ryan Hansen got a pretty sweet contract this season. Even though he only had one small scene in this episode, he's still been in 3 out of 3 episodes this season. And he's the only periphery character to have 3/3. Percy, Tina, Chris, and Julie have been 2/3 eps and Francis and Michael have been in 1/3. __________________

I need to watch this one more time before I comment properly, but I was really excited by parts of this episode.
The bitter snark was back, which I've been missing, and it still didn't mean that LV had to be uphappy in the end. It was good to see Weevil back, really. I've missed him, and his charming personality. I liked that Dick made a visit, but is he getting more time to do something? I mean, he's got to be doing something with the time he's not in class, right? __________________

The occasional fight or misunderstanding is a normal part of any relationship. I don't mind if they show these spats, because some realism is always nice. I just hope there's nothing coming that will permanently split Logan & Veronica up. I always thought it would be nice to have them working together (kinda like when Logan asked for V's purse and she didn't hesitate and just gave it to him). They know each other so well and are both so smart that they could really work well together. I don't think they should necessarily keep Logan apart from Veronica working the mysteries. I think he could be a real asset to her.
I missed Mac! Piz is annoying. Nose-ring girl is around way too much to not be a part of the rapes. Loved seeing Weevil (I too thought he had gained a little weight, but it also could've been the clothes they were dressing him in). I think Weevil could really come in handy in the future, being maintenance and having access to all the keys to the campus. |

I really liked this episode. The transition from hs to college is awkward for any tv show, and I think RT has done a pretty good job. My heart was breaking for Veronica when she confronted Logan at the card game. Even though she was wrong to be stalking him, his "I said maybe I'd stop by" felt so harsh. This is clearly new territory for Veronica, and watching these two make mistakes and work through them is both angsty and satisfying.

I thought this was the best episode so far this season (except I missed Mac, Wallace, and Parker). I liked how everything tied together with these mysteries: Veronica's incident with the dean led to her getting Weevil a job (which better mean some Weevil/Logan action in the near future), Veronica's A mystery led to her realization that she was going to lose Logan if she didn't change her behavior, and Veronica finding Logan at the casino led to her solving her mystery.
Love love LOVE the Logan/Veronica stuff. I love conflict as long as it's internal and it makes sense, and this did. I loved it being made clear that Veronica IS attached to Logan, that he does have enough power to make her feel vulnerable and scared, that she doesn't want to lose him, and that she knows she has trust issues. I forget from one time to the next just how much Francis Capra can do with so little. I about cried when Weevil got fired from Keith's. It's great to have him back! The dialogue was especially good tonight. "Jealous would involve a piano wire." "Dick's idea of five minutes is more like one; ask Madison Sinclair." "He's not even a very good murderer." "I have to steal a jock- the little underwear, I don't mean kidnap an athlete!" "What's beyond pathological?" __________________

As far as the mystery...whe whole play book thing, that was completely lame. I wasnt into that at all....
still, there were other parts that make this one of my fav eps....love the scene with Dick and its good to have Weevil back, and I really ENJOYED all the LoVe...Those by far were stellar moments, and its nice that the ep actually ended on a cute, good note... __________________
