That makes me nervous because Scott would probably do it.

OMG!! I really really hope it's not Scott!!! I don't understand why they don't just have a stuntman do that? Asking an actor to do it and say that he has no choice! That's horrible!

Sometimes though it's like the actors want to do their own stunts like its a pride thing or something, thinking it's cool. I can totally see Scott wanting to do his own stunts.

"Yes I did all my own stunts." *Puffs out his chest.*

As far as what the director said, I take it tongue in cheek, I don't see anyone making anyone doing something if they didn't want to.

I'm not sure about the tongue-in-cheek then there are paramedics on standby. Maybe it's just because I'm teetering on the Saw thing in the first place -- Dramatic role, absolutely -- but this is just foolishness. I agree with Elissa -- where are the stuntmen for this -- they are the "pros" for stuff like that. And wanting to do you own stunts, while most of the time is fine, when you talk about dangerous stunts like that -- what's to be gained?? That he can tell his grandchildren that at the age of 50 he was able to death-defying tricks? Maybe I'm just showing my age here.

I agree with you 100%, Deborah! If it's an age thing I'm with you too! But then, I may be a bit of an old fogey at heart - I still don't understand the teens' fashion trend to wear the way oversized jeans that are barely hanging off their butts and you can either see their thongs or their boxers or briefs.

Many actor do like to do their own stunts, but if the producers/directors are having ambulance crew waiting in the wings, maybe that is a time to leave the stunts to people who do death-defying acts for a living!

I'm thinking they have medics regardless if it's a stuntman doing the stunt or the actor. I think it would be standard practice. I don't remember where I read it, but I believe they had medics/medical professionals on standby when they did the jumping off of the tower in You Jump, I Jump Jack and that was done by stunt people.

Anytime you are dealing with a horror/action film I'm sure precautions are just normal practice.

Scott was stunt man at one point wasn't he. So if they are talking about Scott I could totally see him wanting to do it. Lets just hope it is not Scott's character.

Actually, that's a fallacy. He was never a stuntman. It was put in IMDb, I think, but it's incorrect. I don't know if they changed it or not. I'm sure his dexterity is fine and can do some stunts as most actors do though.

Oh I would too, as long as it is acting. I just would hate to see him(SP, not PS) take any real risks. I don't mind if Peter Strahm gets hurt, but Scott Patterson is another story.

When Justin meets the cute, artsy leading actress Zoe (guest star Larisa Oleynik), he auditions for the male lead and lands the part, giving him an excuse to spend time with Zoe. The two become inseparable, but the friendship is damaged when Zoe discovers that Justin has let his buddies believe that he and Zoe are having sex. Meanwhile, Claire (Lindsey Shaw) joins the teen hotline at school, but finds that she isn't able to help anyone. Feeling bad for her, Raja (Adhir Kalyan) calls in using a fake name and an American accent and begins telling Claire his troubles. Michael Fresco directed the episode written by Sam Lyborune (#112).

Where's Gary???????
That made me wonder too, Michelle. I was wondering if Scott took some time off around the filming of this eppy to promote Saw. It seems as though TPTB have been changing the order of the airing of the episodes -- not airing in order of filming. I've seen it done more on this show than in GG. As a matter of fact, I only saw it once with GG -- in Season 7. I didn't know that that was done. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

I think they are more flexible with the order that they air the episodes is because it's not a continuous storyline with a specific story arc. Each episode of Aliens in self contained. The only thing they have to worry about is making sure you don't see it being winter one episode and the next it's the middle of summer. So this episode (Mom's Coma) should still be winter-ish, or heading into spring.

I also think you will always see everyone in the family in each episode, but the focus will just change. Trying to think. hasn't that been the case?

Definately right after Christmas. If the writers strike hadn't happened, and we are looking at 4 episodes after "Church", then I would think that it is Winterish-Springish.

I have this hilarious scenario in my head. Franny bumps a car in a parking lot and scrapes her rubber bumper. Leaves a note to the owner of the other car. Tells Gary -- he freaks out -- goes to the parking lot to retrieve Franny's note -- and the owner of the car starts to back out and they really collide good. I talking air bags being deployed here on either car or both. And Gary was trying to do this without Franny knowing about it. I can't stop giggling. We'll just have to see tonite.

"ALIENS IN AMERICA" (8:30-9:00 p.m. ET)

"One Hundred Thousand Miles" (TV-PG) (HDTV)

RAJA RUNS AWAY The Tolchucks are set to fly to Vancouver for a family vacation, but when Raja (Adhir Kalyan) begins praying at the airport, the family is questioned and the trip is postponed. Feeling that the family resents him and has never understood him, Raja leaves the Tolchuck's home and asks Mr. Matthews (Christopher B. Duncan) to place him with a new family. Guilt-ridden and frantic to find Raja, the Tolchucks turn to the local mosque, where Franny (Amy Pietz) and Claire (Lindsey Shaw) meet a Muslim mother (guest star Nimet Kanji) and teenage daughter (guest star Sunita Prasad) who are hosting a German exchange student (guest star Lars Anderson). Meanwhile, Gary (Scott Patterson) and Justin (Dan Byrd) set off in search of Raja and share a rare father/son bonding moment. Fred Savage directed the episode written by Richard Day (#113).
This sounds soooo sad. Where's the humor????

So it is Raja that shoots Gary in the tushie. "Get it out of me! Get it out of me!"

Looks like everyone has a storyline in this episode.
OOH and Claire you are so busted.
