Summary: Justin Tolchuk is a sensitive, lanky 16-year-old just trying to make it through the social nightmare of high school in Medora, Wisconsin, with the help of his well-meaning mom Franny, aspiring-entrepreneur dad Gary, and his popular sister Claire, who is sweetly unaware of how good-looking she is. When Franny signs up for the school's international exchange student program, she pictures an athletic, brilliant Nordic teen who will bestow instant coolness on her outsider son. However, when the Tolchuk's exchange student arrives, he turns out to be Raja Musharaff, a 16-year-old Pakistani Muslim. Despite the cultural chasm between them, Justin and Raja quickly develop an unlikely friendship that just might allow them to navigate the minefield that is contemporary high school. It's going to be a very interesting year for Raja, Justin, his family and the entire population of Medora.

TV.com: Justin's crush, Anita, tries to get him to ditch class with her. However, when Justin tries to get her to do the same, Anita ridicules Justin in front of her friends. She next tries the same on Raja, but gets an unforeseen reaction from him instead.

the Futon Critic: Justin, along with every guy in school, is furious with Raja after he convinces the hottest girl in school, Anita, that she should dress more modestly. However, Claire is thrilled that Amy is no longer the leader of the A-List crowd and quickly takes her place. Meanwhile, when Justin tells Franny its time for him to start choosing his own clothes, she turns her attention to updating Garys wardrobe.

Episode 1.07: Mom in a Coma

TV.com: When Franny reminds Justin to buy tickets for "The Sound of Music" in front of a crowd, a junior named Trey suddenly decides to pick on him. Meanwhile, Franny gets into a car accident while she is out shopping for a birthday present for Gary, something that Justin uses to get Trey to stop bothering him.

Spoilerfix.com: In "Mom in a Coma," we meet Trey Tozer, a teen in his third year as a junior. He threatens Justin with a hand-made weapon and makes fun of the fact that Justin likes The Sound of Music (Trey learned of this when Franny dropped Justin to school and reminded Justin, in front of a lot of students, to get tickets for the musical). In class, Trey keeps shooting rubber bands at Justin. Raja suggests various courses of actions to Justin in order to take care of the Trey problem. Franny goes to a sports memorabillia store to buy a gift for Gary's birthday. As she is about to leave the parking lot, she gets into an accident. Justin uses Franny's accident to his advantage when Trey is about to hurt him.

Episode 1.08: Community Thearter

TV.com: Franny encourages Justin to audition for a play in which she is involved. Although initially reluctant to do so, Justin nonetheless auditions because he wants the role that requires him to kiss a beautiful young woman. However, when the lady decides to leave because things go bad between her and Justin, Franny steps up and assumes her role, putting mother and son in quite an awkward situation.


Spoilerfix.com: Community Theater: Franny is involved in a play and wants Justin to audition. He brushes the idea off until he meets Zoe, a college who is playing the lead female role and hopes that she won't have to kiss Dr. Feldman, a pediatrician who is set to get the lead male part. To Feldmand's dismay, Justin gets the role. Zoe and Justin's work relationship eventually turns sour and Zoe quits the play. Franny will step in to replace her... but will mother and son have to kiss? Raja, Dooley and Brad also appear.

SpoilerFix is now saying that "Community Theater" is not episode 1.13 and is airing March 16th (today's news)

New Description "Community Theater" on March 16th

SUNDAY, MARCH 16 "ALIENS IN AMERICA" (8:30-9:00 p.m. ET) "Community Theater" (TV-14, D) (HDTV) JUSTIN AND FRANNY STAR IN "RENT" Franny's (Amy Pietz) community theater group puts on a production of "Rent," and when she can't get Justin (Dan Byrd) to audition for a part, she convinces him to at least join the stage crew so they can have some quality mother/son time. When Justin meets the cute, artsy leading actress Zoe (guest star Larisa Oleynik), he auditions for the male lead and lands the part, giving him an excuse to spend time with Zoe. The two become inseparable, but the friendship is damaged when Zoe discovers that Justin has let his buddies believe that he and Zoe are having sex. Meanwhile, Claire (Lindsey Shaw) joins the teen hotline at school, but finds that she isn't able to help anyone. Feeling bad for her, Raja (Adhir Kalyan) calls in using a fake name and an American accent and begins telling Claire his troubles. Michael Fresco directed the episode written by Sam Lyborune (#112).

I know. That disturbs me a lot. And how are those people able to think/say those things without mucking up the stuntmen organization(s). I dunno -- guess I'm too old to "appreciate" the Saw series. I'll watch it now for Scott and he alone -- the premise just doesn't thrill me. I hope this is just mad rumor to conjour up excitement for the upcoming filming. Sheesh.
