Held up by my chronic dilemma (!) - I just couldn't cut this more. Obviously, this one's deeply felt.

I surrender!!! Hope you'll take it as is - but if it's too long, please feel free to edit. I only ask for 1 opportunity to proof final version for spelling/typos/grammar. Thanks!

All Those Years Ago (1981) by George Harrison
A definitive statement by George Harrison at John's Lennon's murder by "... the devil's best friend, someone who offended all" in December 1980. Few deserved consolation more than George; yet several months later he consoled us (with a little help from Ringo and Paul, also on the recording). It's as humbling to reflect upon how much John accomplished by the age of 40(!) - as it is stunning to ponder what might have been. May John and George rest in eternal peace.

p.s. Tarty "gum on your shoe" History - you're amazing!

Nice tribute Karen, and so very very true!! -- It is a bit long -- We were limiting to about 30 words - 2 lines at most on the inside jacket. Tarty, maybe show her some of what we have so far? Or, you can scroll to past pages for examples.

Karen no not really. Remember we are trying to say why we think Scott will appreciate the song. Why we picked it for him.

I know! It's just with John Lennon as the subject, that much is self-evident!! I'm workin on it!
~~~
I don't know about any of you - but once you pass a certain age - and you realize you've lived longer than Marilyn, Elvis, John, Dr. King, et al. - it's freaky and truly humbling - and it just makes you think. Heck - James Dean, Buddy Holly - age 23, 22. That's my intent ... don't need to say "think!" to get there....
~~~

Okay, here goes (!):

George’s loving tribute to John Lennon consoled us all. Humbling to reflect how much John accomplished by age 40; stunning to ponder what might have been. May both rest in eternal peace.

= 32 words (w/o title + artist) Hope it fits?!!!!!

Has anyone thought of any more liner notes??
I will come through with some notes very soon. I was away this weekend and will be traveling back to my "home" vacation base tomorrow where I have more access to the internet.

Okay. This was really difficult. And now, please let me know your thoughts.
So that everything is well to be recognised, I have the picture in full size here.

I love it, Ela!! That will work nicely. Well done. You're amazing.

Does that make 5 covers now?

This cover and the Pink Floyd cover are two which I got from NoGods. If she agrees with it, I send you both covers by mail.

I try just some liner notes for:

1963: Roy Orbison - In Dreams
1969: Velvet Underground - Pale Blue Eyes
1999: Red Hot Chili Peppers – Californication
1980: Queen - Crazy Little Thing Called Love

Ela, the cover is great! I love how you chose a similar style of lettering as the original's. Awesome!

That makes four covers. I am working on Sgt. Pepper (although I couldn't this weekend). I'm going to need some time for that one because it's much more complicated. I will get time this week to devote quality hours to it, though.
