Great going everyone.
Thanks Tarty for the update on the liner notes.

Again fantastic job to both Nogods and Ela the covers look awesome.

Couple questions regarding the covers.

First do we have a fifth cover in either the planning stage or actually in the works?

We have Dylan, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Sex Pistols am I missing one?

Also I was thinking on the cover should there be something on the bottom, non-obtrusive to the artwork saying the disc number and the years. Ie. Disc One 1958-1969. That way Scott knows what disc is what years at a glance. Otherwise he can just turn the case over to see the song titles.

And just a heads up I will be camping this weekend, leaving tomorrow morning and coming home Sunday evening, so I won't be around.

Everyone keep up the great work.

Deborah thanks again for handling the well wishes book. Still working on mine but you should have it very soon.

1993: Counting Crows - Mr. Jones. She’s looking at you, Scott!

Thoughts?

I think a year span would detract from some of the covers, bit I could try. I think the Scott Patterson 50 Years revisited should probably be the first one because of the title. Maybe the best thing to do is have the volume # prominently featured on the back.

Happy camping, Lulu! I'm off to Boston this weekend in search of Red Sox /Yankees tickets. You hear me, KbatMo? The Yankees are goin' down!

On the back could work Nogods.

And I agree with Dylan because of the title being the first one.
As for the albums we are using. What years are they from?

Can they be used in an order to represent the years we are using? Or are they pretty much from the same years.

Hope that question made sense

Unfortunately, no. I thought of that when I was searching for possibilities, but it was too hard to find instantly recognizable covers (by a music fan of Scott's age anyway) that could be tweaked in a nod to Scott. In chronological order it's:

Highway 61 Revisited (1965) Now, Scott patterson 50 Years Revisited

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) Will become Scott Patterson's Lovely Hearts Club Band

Physical Graffiti (1975)

Wish You Were Here (1975) Now, Wish We Were There

Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols (1977) Now, Never Mind the Bollocks Here's to Scott Patterson

This is a good time to let you know that the Sgt. Pepper album is going to take a lot of time. (I'm not complaining; it's fun). I'm going to make it my pièce de résistance . I promise to get it done before the deadline. If you want to be on the cover, P.M. me. So far, there's me, Ela, Lulu, KbatMo, and Tarty. I have to make the faces quite small, so don't sweat it so much, folks.

You didn't want to use the "Scott Patterson's -- 50 Songs For 50 Years Anthology"?????

Or whatever I used earlier. I'll have to retrace my posts.

I have nothing against that title at all, but it doesn't fit with the classic cover idea. The use of the word "revisted" links to the orignal title of that album. On the back of each cd where the track listing will be, that title with a volume # could span with the track listings.

NoGods -- I wasn't promoting my idea. There were multiple titles out there. Maybe we ought to let the front covers be unlabeled and use the back jacket -- back of the jewel case to have print a name/title as well as the listing of songs from each cd. The photos are just too good to muck up with wordings.

That's my idea, anyways.

Deborah the wording on the covers are just rewording them to match what the orginal said. A play on words if you will. Nothing extra.

The back cover is a good place for the disc number the years included and the song and artist

Could Be:
Disc One
1958-1969

1958: Johnny B. Goode- Chuck Berry
1959 etc

I'm thinking on the acknowledgement letter The Heading could be Scott Patterson's Birthday Project: 50 Songs for 50 Years or something to that affect,

I think Scott's picture and/or our pictures on the front of each jacket cover is fine with no printing -- it would be unique and Scott would know by the different covers what decade of songs were in the mix (wouldn't he/we??); then the back covers would have the title of CD and titles of songs. I just thought that wording on the front of jackets would take away from the artistry.

This is just me kicking the can.

I think the front classic jacket covers would be too busy/distracting if we add anything else beyond the tweaking for Scott. Wouldn't having the CD number/title, song years, list of songs and artists on the back covers work out?

Hey SPA, did you play kick the can as a kid too?

I think I am not explaining my self clearly. I'm confusing at times LOL.

The only thing on the front will be what the orginial album cover looks like.

On the orginial album cover if there are words ie Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. Then those words are being tweaked. to reflect Scott, as is the pic itself.
Because on one of the covers all it is is words. (The Sex Pistols one)

On the back will be all the info. Disc number, years, song artist.

Okay, then we are in sync. No more stressin -- go camping and enjoy all the things you are going to do outdoors -- as Luke would say: "I don't have time for this. I'm a busy man. I've got a diner to run. I've got things to flip and fry." I still love it when he recites this to Lorelai!!! ~~ sighs ~~
