SPA, you are right. I corrected the post.

Halfway there!!

No problem -- no biggy.

Is there an interest to get a t-shirt made that reads on the front: "I Don't Look 50" and reads on the back: "I Don't Act 50" (wink-winkers) So many interpretations to the word "Act" here.

I remember having a t-shirt made for my 50th that says: "Age is just a number -- and mine is unlisted" It cracks everyone up when I wear it.

T-shirts can be made up very very, quickly if there's an interest. Just need to pick out a color of shirt and lettering. I believe the size for Scott should be single X-Large (those broad shoulders)

Let me know.

Sounds great. And anyhow wittily.
I find, we should not renounce this.

2002: I Am Mine by Pearl Jam. Eddie Vedder himself says it best, we all want to feel safe and be free.

1973: Rosalita by Bruce Springsteen. One of your three favorite songs, eh? Sounds like you are telling on yourself. Way to go!

1976: Better Off Without a Wife by Tom Waits. What’s life without a wife…more notches on the bedpost.
or
1976: Better Off Without a Wife by Tom Waits. What’s life without a wife…no dealing with the in-laws.

I like all of them, Tarty!!!

Hidden meaning in Rosalita?? Totally agree.

And, if we were gutsy, I'd go with the first one for Better Off Without a Wife.

Nice liners.

Gutsy yes for the first line of Better Off Without a Wife but I'd go with the second myself, not sure how he'd take the first one.

As for the teeshirt I think the book and CDs are plenty IMO. Too much might be overkill.

I'm ROTFL Tarty! Absolutely love both of the cracks for Better off Without a Wife. I think Scott has a sense of humor and he'd crack up at both of them. My vote is for #1.

The t-shirt was just a joke gone amok. For him to wear it, it has to have some significance to skiing or some rock band.

Love seeing you posting again, Scooter -- miss your posts!!!

Some more liner suggestions:

1967: Red House by Jimi Hendrix. Even in 1973, 74, 75, this song was a mandatory play at every house party. Oh, the life of the teenage thought process.

1979: Another Brick On The Wall (Part 2) by Pink Floyd. A song that talks about banding together to break free from oppression of the structured society and explore making your own mark in the world (the beat ain’t bad either).

1992: Layla (Unplugged) by Eric Clapton. One word – “Classic.”

2008: I’m Amazed by My Morning Jacket. A song of possibilities – to dream, to hope, to inspire, to make up your own mind!! Happy Birthday!!

I think I would go with number 2 on the note for better off without a wife. Although I can't say I have never dreamed about being one of those notches

I've made a few more improvements.
With the fire was probably the most difficult one. But I think, now I have it.
Sorry for the size of the pics, but I think, one can recognise everything fairly well.

original cover:

Scott’s cover:

Would please me to read your thoughts.

NGNM: Do you think that now it is better with his head?

Awesome job Ela. And thanks for the bigger pics I can see so much more clearly now.

Another possibility for

1976: Better Off Without A Wife by Tom Waits. Our tongue in cheek salute to bachelorhood.

2005 Rockstar by Nickelback. A little ditty for your inner rockstar.

Ela, the cover is great! I love how you did the fire and his face looks much clearer now. Awesome!

I like Tarty's "notches" note the best for "Better Off Without a Wife." We all have seen enough of Scott on interviews to see that he is a playful, teaser himself. Let's have some fun and make him laugh.

Lulu, great note for "Rockstar."

SPA, I love the notes you have written so far. I do think that the "Red House" and "Another Brick in the Wall" could use some tweaking, but maybe that's just me. For "Brick" it feels too much like we're explaining the song to Scott, I guess, you know?

I agree with you NoGods -- it was an off-the-cuff attempt. Anyone with anything better is fine with me. Maybe I can tweak to salvage or a complete rewrite.

For Rockstar how about something like: "Takes one to know one" since he uses that phrase alot.
