Can't remember but wasn't Rosalita mentioned in a interview by Scott? Maybe work that in.

I like the first Stand By Me line also.

Okay, here's another cover. This one was harder because I needed to try find the right picture of Scott and match & blend skin & hair tones. Plus, Dylan is tiny guy with small shoulders and Scott is bulkier *fans self*. Sorry for posting larger images, but you can get a better look this way.

Here's the famous Dylan album cover :

Here's the Scott version:

You're kidding, right? I mean, I LOVE Dylan's music....but....I was fanning myself over Scott of course! His...um...everything makes me weak in the knees, especially his overall 'bulkiness.'

ETA: I edited the word order of my previous post. I guess it was unclear and could have been read to think I was fawning over Dylan, but no, no, no....that was all about Scott.

What NoGods wishes, NoGods gets. It's amazing how you two are able to do that in the first place.

Does that make 5 covers now?? Or are we going to look at more and choose 5?? And, are we putting the covers in some type of order according to decade of songs?? Or nevermind that and the covers will all be random?

I've made three more liners for review:

1960: Georgia On My Mind by Ray Charles. Since you know about, and have experienced, “Southern Hospitality” – R&B could not be represented any better than by the great Ray Charles Robinson a/k/a Ray Charles.

1977: Hotel California by The Eagles. With youth, inexperience, and a little naïveté, this song speaks to those with dreams to make it in Tinsel Town.

1983: I Love L.A. by Randy Newman. There were several of us who made our first trip to L.A. recently, where our very first impressions matched this song; and we thought it kinda would have been the same for you!!

Your thoughts???

NoGods, the Dylan to Scott cover is perfect!!

ITA, Scott's overall 'bulkiness'....can't take my eyes off of him.

SPA and Lulu, great liner notes!! I have added them on the list.

Now that I have cleared my mind a bit , I am going to work on a do-over liner note for Rosalita, (hopefully tonight). You are correct Lulu, Scott did mention Rosalita as one of his three favorite songs along with Ohio and Horses. Of course, if anyone else has a note for Rosalita post away.

Just want to say - congrats to everyone - this thing is really cooking and everyone's doing fabulous stuff!!! This is SO awesome! I'm sorry I haven't been around - but I wouldn't have been much help with the most recent music anyway. I love the choices - all of them - as shown in yellow bold on p.1 ... is that the final list? I haven't read the page previous to this one yet (will in a tic) ... is anything still under consideration? Just curious - cause I saw a little musing/chatting, above!

So! (and again, wow!) - Besides the CDs and cards/messages - what's being sent to him among the suggestions on p.1? Has a decision been made as to overall format - an album or whatever? Also - I see SPA mentioned liner notes. Are you doing 1 for each song? Is there a place you're tracking which are done/ which have yet to be done ... is that something I can contribute to? (if it's still in the works!)

NGNM: Although the body is undersized vs. Scotty P. - I love his face on the Highway 61 Revisited cover - awesome! Did you notice - Dylan has the same long delicate fingers as Scott? Even though his hands aren't as large (esp. the palms) - the resemblance is almost uncanny! I like it!!!!

Again, just great everybody!!!!!!!!!! Missed y'all!

p.s. To whomever's burning CDs (assuming that's been determined ... otherwise I can do it if someone else can take care of CD labels) ... I have a fair number of the songs - v. happy to share them. Most notable: I purchased the CD soundtrack to Little Big League expressly for this project ... so I'd definitely like to contribute "Stuff You Gotta Watch"! Pls. let me know!!

pps - Never mind = just read p. 4 ... I guess SPA burned them and you've got them all?! SPA, when burning music CDs normally there is a default setting of "2 seconds" between songs ... if it worked, then the CDs will sound just like any other CD....

Are you still going to use Measha on Beethoven's 9th for 2006 if you've got her singing Happy Birthday? Also - for 2007 - did everyone decide "What's so funny about peace, love and understanding?" would ring a sour note because of the show's cancellation? If so - I can't disagree - but "P, L and U" really do amount to Scott's core belief system....! Just thought I'd mention that (yours for less than 2 cents) ... not that all of you don't know that; or that the concept isn't well-represented on the existing list!

As for liner notes - I'd love to write a couple - is anyone tracking which are done/ which are still needed - if any?

Karen the songs have been gathered and Deborah has made test CDs to check the song quality which she says is great. I asked about the tracks and there are 'spaces' in between where Scott can jump around if he wants. With it showing the track numbers on Deborah player

Nogods and Ela have been working on the CD case covers using classic albums and tweaking them to have Scott be in them.

The liner notes are being done one per song with everyone kinda just throwing lines out there. So far there hasn't been any duplicates as far as lines. But even if a song has had a line written about it, if you want to write a line we will take them all then look to see which ones everyone likes. Tarty is keeping track and will be sending them to Deborah when we have a complete list.

Tarty if maybe you can post what we have so far to give people an idea.

As far as the 'scrapbook' we have informed the threads here and else where what we are doing and to PM me or Deborah if they want to send one. Then they can email us them and Deborah is going to format them to fit into the book.
She can probably tell you more about that.

I think that is it.

And of course Tarty beat me to the punch about the liner notes

Also lovin the lines everyone. Nice additions Derborah. I was thinking back on your line for the song from the LBL songtrack and your baseball reference do we want to mention the LBL movie as well?

Thanks so much for the update and info, Tarty and lulu!

May I call liner "dibs" on 1981 - "All Those Years Ago"? I have no other 'burning desires' ... and I'll start thinking about some of the other "greens"!

I'm really glad Stand By Me is in for 1961, Love that song. They're all great actually. Sounds/reads kinda lame - but all I can say is "Wow!!!!!!!!!" Again. To everyone!

And Major League kudos to SPA re: Measha singing "Happy Birthday"! That's a grand slam home run to win the Series!!!!!!! (Or a no-hitter, if you prefer the pitcher's perspective!)

p.s. to NGNM - I just took another look at the album cover, above. Can't believe the way you made the hair blend in perfectly with the outline of Dylan's head. V. cool!!! Don't know about satin (except for sports) but blue is definitely Scotty's color ... and I can totally see him in a t-shirt w/ a motorcycle on it! Funny - the person above Dylan (now SP) - with the camera - black jeans, (horiz.) striped shirt, finger in pocket ... reminds me of the GG promo (S7 - I guess?!) where Scott's wearing a red and blue striped shirt and is standing in a similar pose (with top of body/ minus camera)......

Karen, snaps and kudos go to you as well -- very much so -- a big piece of the puzzle in setting this all up. I wrote a blurb for "Stuff You Gotta Watch" but please feel free to take that song over -- It was your suggestion and by rights you should have "dibs".

Also, I downloaded Beethoven's 9th by the Cleveland Orchestra that says that Measha is added to this whole Symphony (but am not sure of that particurlar piece) -- BTW, it has Ode to Joy on it -- my absolute fav of his. Was this the song that you suggested?

Tarty: I wrote a blurb for Measha's Happy Birthday song -- Was going to keep it as a "surprise" for Scott.

Lulu, I am hoping that the song itself has the baseball feel that would spark a memory -- if not that, then my liner would be a second spark. I thought it looks better without a reference -- but that's me.

Let me know your thoughts.
