I have been asked whether there would be interest of people coming to see Scott’s work – view at his artwork; share in his poetry and short-stories. Scott would be there to sign autographs and have pictures taken with him as well. We are trying to brainstorm some ideas.
A poet too? I shouldn't be surprised anymore by what "our" renaissance man can do. As for interest in seeing Scott's artwork and reading or sharing his written work, all I can say is HELL YES! I am an active reader of poetry, essays, short stories, novels, etc., and I cannot overstate how much I would like to read something by Scott.

I personally don't care about autographs (wouldn't turn one down but wouldn't seek one out either). A picture would be nice but there would probably need to be a medical unit on standby in case of heart attacks (at least in my case...).

I think the best idea may be the least feasible; the small group settings to view and discuss his art and writings would be wonderful. I also think having his own website would be great. He has a nice, symbiotic thing going on with , but I think it's best for him to be in control of the situation.

Thanks for the exciting information, Deborah! I'm so happy you were able to confirm that he saw his birthday book. I sure hope it brought a smile to his face considering what he was going through with his mom.

Thanx NGNM. I was also going to suggest that copies of his artwork -- postcards or mainly posters, maybe lithographs could be made. I'm interested in viewing other pieces of his artwork (those two pieces beside him in the picture that was posted last May(??)) and to see if his paintings have titles.

I'm not exactly sure about his poetry and short-stories. If they are already published then copies could be made easily -- however wouldn't we have already found that out???? Maybe he's on the verge of doing something like that -- getting published.

I am liking the idea of the "Truncheon Books" setting / atmosphere (anyone recall the name??) -- easy to look, read, talk and discuss.

The autographs and signed pictures thing, I was thinking that it's something that goes with the territory, you know? Same applies for the picture-taking opportunity.

Just trying to brainstorm some ideas. I wonder about a gathering of his musical talents? I'm not sure about that though.

Hey I can sing. We could have a sing-a-long.

I think anything where we would have a chance to see just how talented this man is-not that most of us don't already know-would be a great idea.

As for an autograph, I have a couple of baseball cards that I would love to have signed. I would go anywhere for that.

Does anyone have other suggestions other than mine??

Was wondering what kind of setting for Scott was preferable -- one where he speaks to groups of people -- or one where he art speaks for itself and he arrives later for photo-op and autographs.

I know which one I would choose.

I'm sure people would be interested in his thoughts. He always sounds so articulate when he speaks.

I would love to hear him speak so I would like to be able to be in a small group setting with him.

You've been asked by ... whom? And - no mention of his music?

I like that setting the best too, Michelle. Unfortunately, it's probably the least likely. It looks like he's testing the waters to show his paintings is what I suspect. And if it is his paintings, short-stories and poetry that he's willing to share, I think maybe what is being planned is a showing at a gallery. I just hope it's nearby.

What about a setting in an independent art gallery?

What keeps popping into my head is a moderate-sized room; airy; with his artwork surrounding all the walls. Maybe there could be some of his music playing in the background -- but could that be done softly (can rock music be played softly??).

Another idea would be a showing of is writings alone. The same sized room with lots of space with chairs and endtables with Scott's writings -- poetry, short-stories. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a reading of some of his poetry and then talk about it – all with Scott present of course. I’m interested in his writing style – what messages he is creating.
