Sawmania FYI ... they are selling tix for to meet 1 particular star and get guaranteed autograph ... no option for Scott, however ... so no indication of him showing up..... But there was no pre-announcement (that I know of) - of his appearing at ComicCon so I guess we never know - except last minute San Diego seems far more probable than last minute NYC. (There's Tobin Bell, Betsy Russell, Costas Mandylor, + the director-to-be of Saw VI so far, I believe.)

Did anyone attend Comic Con (or lurk outside)? Any meetings/sightings outside of the journalist/ panel items???

Arrow in the Head News: New Saw V poster

The folks over at Yahoo! got their hands on the newest SAW V art. Must say it's nothing special. We already know from the first teaser trailer, and subsequent official stills (see below), that Scott "I should've stuck with Gilmore Girls" Patterson's Agent Strahm finds himself with his head crammed in a glass box, and that's basically what you've got with this poster. No, not very clever, as some SAW one-sheets in the past have been, but let's face it: it could be an image of a stuffed animal sitting on top of a birthday cake, as long as the title SAW V is there, Lionsgate has nothing to worry about. (Unless horror fans decide to boycott it because of the MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN fiasco... Whoops, did I just suggest that?) SAW V stars Costas Mandylor (as the series' new villain Hoffman), Julie Benz, Meagan Good, Mark Rolston, Tobin Bell, and of course, Scott Patterson as the world's most unconvincing FBI Agent/Human Being... Do I need to tell you when it opens?

I don't know if it's spoilerish but I think this line is from Scott?

"Dammit, they found a way to keep me in the movie without subjecting the audience to my voice!"

Thanx for the info and link, Lancer. After reading it, I don't think they are fans of the Saw series, or even Scott for that matter. I'm not sure that Scott made that quote. I'm liking the poster though!! It all seems to be Scott-oriented, and that's always good news, right?

I don't think Scott made the "I should've stuck with Gilmore Girls" quote as he had already signed for S8.

So Scott is turning 50 soon, just like Madonna and Michel Jackson LOL

90210 Success - Future for Gilmore Girls?

Michael Auseillo thinks that last night’s successful re-introduction of 90210 makes the possibility of Gilmore Girls coming back more likely!

In the latest Ask Ausiello post, a reader asked about the possibility of a Gilmore Girls movie, and what the news was. His response:

Ausiello: If I had a serious gambling problem, which I don’t (wink, wink), I’d wager my entire Smurf collection that the likelihood of a Gilmore movie hinges on how well 90210 performed last night in the ratings. See where I’m going with this?

Where’s he’s going is this - 90210 kicked butt in ratings! The CW was the #1 network last night, in terms of ratings for the 18-49 demographic, and 90210 scored the highest ever telecast of a scripted series for the network. It had about 4.9 million viewers across the 2-hour premiere

So, if this isn’t a HUGE message to the CW that Gilmore Girls has the potential in the future for a movie or a return of some sort, I don’t know what is! I think that, unlike 90210, Gilmore Girls does rely on its original cast and storyline. But every little positive factor will go a long way for us!

That is a very interesting way to look at it. Its turn I rather watch a return of a favorite show then to try to wrap my head around another losing reality show. 90210 was a huge success back in the day. Let's see if the CW is paying attention.

A GG movie would be a good way to utilize that. And we do need the whole cast, it wouldn't work otherwise, at the very least all the Gilmores and Luke of course. With assorted townies and lets throw in Paris, we'd be good to go.

When has MA been correct on anything regarding GG? Did he predict their downfall?? Especially with him having such a love affair with LG??? I'd take whatever MA has with a grain of salt. So, what's MA trying to tell us -- that if the new 90210 is successful, so will a GG movie? What kind of timeframe is needed for TPTB on the CW to realize that??? And when they do (if they do), how much time is needed to prepare/create and shoot a GG movie? How much time needs to go by before everyone says "Too little -- too late." MA bugs the crap outta me too. I really wish that MA would make up his mind. That's part of his charm?? Teasing and frustrating and needling GG lovers? If he knows something, why isn't he just coming out and say it -- GG's been gone for a whole season, and is knocking on two seasons' door, and feelings are still raw about GG's ending. I just wish Michael would just be above-board -- his teasers are officially now -- boring.

Plus -- I hate the CW and everyone having anything to do with that network. They will find any and every way possible to screw up anything that's a moneymaker for them -- potential and otherwise.

It's a sick, sick joke on the fans of GG -- MA, CW, shame on you. This really stinks.

I agree Gilmore relies on the cast, no Lauren, Alexis or Scott and no TV movie and just liek the reasons that lead to no S8 they would have to be ready to come back, this is why you'll never see another series. Unless it's like 20 years later and it's the kids of the old cast with Luke and Lorelai making guest appearances every few eps LOL

I still think a TV movie is possible if the cast wants it but to make it work they need all the regulars to return which could be a tall order. I still say if they brokered a deal for a TV movie 2 years ago then we could have had that closure many want. They could have come back for a month or so, made it and we'd have the extra 2 eps worth of time to tie-up some loose ends. L&L getting married and Rory re-uniting with Logan.

I think Ausiello is just a fan like us and he desperately wants to see GG back in any way, shape or form. And the link to 90210 isn't that crazy, is it? It's the same demographic on the same network. If the CW sees that this works and they knew GG worked, it might be the right place to have the movie.

But again, I wouldn't want to see it if not everybody was there. And that is a bigger issue than having a networking willing to back it up, at least IMO.
