Comic-Con is sold out already. So, there should be a good turn-out. I hope there will be lots of pictures though.

Hmmmm....A "reporter" suggests Scott for a role on some show called Privileged.
Thanks for sharing that NoGods. Is the "reporter" possibly Ausiello? He doesn't say what the response was.

It is MA on EW.com. Here's the part about Scott with references of GG:

Quote:
Privileged Panel
The Players: JoAnna Garcia, Lucy Kate Hale, Ashley Newbrough, Michael Cassidy, Brian Hallisay, Kristina Apgar, Allan Louis, Anne Archer and exec producers Rina Mimoun (Everwood!) and Bob Levy.

10:36 am: Mimoun boils down the premise for the soundbite-thirsty crowd: "Sometimes if you want to change the world, you have to start with two spoiled teenagers and take it from there." Put another way, "What if the Gilmore Girls were teaching the Gossip Girls?" We haven't seen the pilot, but based on the promising trailer -- not to mention the kick-ass pedigree (Rina!) -- I'm going to go ahead and endorse this thing.

10:40 am: Garcia's transformation from a blonde to a redhead is a key plot point in the premiere.

10:43 am: Lots of discussion about whether Garcia's character is more "Rory" or "Lorelai."

10:46 am: How does Archer feel about being on the youth-centric CW? "There's nothing like being around a lot of young people," she says. "I feel kind of like a mentor. I love it." Enjoy it while it lasts!

10:48 am: A reporter likens Archer's character to Emily Gilmore.

10:55 am: Hallisay, who made his feature debut opposite Paris Hilton in Bottoms Up, is asked to critique his former leading lady's acting prowess. "She's committed, she shows up when she's supposed to, she's says what she's supposed to... She's very sweet." Translation: "Yeah, I hit that."

10:58 am: A reporter suggests to Mimoun that she cast Gilmore guy Scott Patterson as the show's MIA dad.

11:01 am: A reporter asks Mimoun if she has spoken to Gilmore creator Amy Sherman-Palladino lately. Let it go people, the show is over! Move on! Geez.
Interesting reference at the end. Rina was one of the best creators on Everwood and when coming over to GG for a bit gave hope to the show. As long as there's breath in MA, GG will not just fade away, will it!! He definitely has been, and continues to be, the mouthpiece for LG and GG.

Interesting, anyone know what the show is about?

MIA dad, sounds more like Chris

Geez!

The show will never be over!

Rina Mimoun ? The one who wrote 7.03 ? Where I nearly fell asleep and was glad to have read the episode description otherwise I wouldn't have known what her point was ? And sorry but Everwood was just boring and I wasn't a bit surprised it kicked the bucket Never understood the hype about that woman

The only purpose to 7.03 was to give them a reason for C&L to hook up, it was a lame reason which was dropped so quick most missed it!

Apologies in advance if this is not the right thread to place this, but wouldn't Scott be an amazing choice for this new role??

Television show - TV Show - Yahoo! TV

The link discusses the as yet uncast role of Grissom's replacement.

Okay, so is this article telling me that they (CBS) are trying a spin off of their own show (originally Showtime's (???)) Dexter??? Instead of a detective with killer tendencies; it's a forensics guy with killer tendencies??? I agree that CBS is a great venue for Scott, and that if in that role and if he goes out in the field he'll be able to carry around that gun that he says he's certified by the FBI, which I think would appeal to him (the boy with gun syndrome). And rumor has it that William Petersen is still with the show, but at the producer's level -- behind the camera, instead of in front. Boy, they all seem to want to be doing that lately.

Interesting possibility though!!

Hello to all. Sorry to have been away so long. I wonder which reporter spoke up for Scott at the TCA's. I'm glad someone did - even if it amounts to an "in your face, Dawn Ostroff"! Thx for bringing that over, SPA.

For the record ... personally I liked the show Everwood ... another major CW blunder in my view ... one that "foreshadowed" GG, and now Aliens. For what it's worth, Everwood storylines broached topics that are otherwise taboo on U.S. TV. Anyone seeing a pattern, here? I do think Rina Mamoun was better suited to writing Everwood than GG. Lots of heart, clever enough; but not nearly enough snark!!!

Thanks NGNM for the link re: CSI. Yes, ma'am! He'd be perfect in a part like that. Even though the prev. actor wasn't well-known before that show (as far as I know) ... now I bet they want a bigger name than Scott's (!) ... and I also bet it's a highly coveted role. Last week, CSI's Nielsen was 4 (4th most watched show on TV). Yes indeed, I'd love to see Scott in a show like that! Plus ... he'd make CSI much more fun to watch ... can totally do justice (++++++) to roles like that ... throw in a romantic interest to the tough cop/forensic type and it would be positively boiling over

p.s. For the record - cause it always irks me! ... the only thing taped in Miami on 'CSI Miami' is the stock helicopter footage they use during the credits. The rest is L.A. or some other sunny venue - but I can assure everyone it ain't Miami!! ... vs. Miami Vice for ex., - both orig. TV show and recent movie - which were filmed here! --> they should revive Miami Vice as a TV series (after all, they've revived 90210) - cast SP with Gong Li(!) - he'd be in heaven (& if it were taped in Miami, so would I )
~~~~~
I'm not sure if this is the place to mention it or not - (apologies if it's on another thread....) thus far this is a non-event for SP - but ya never know ... in NYC, Nov. 14-16 = "Sawmania" ... opportunity to meet the Saw stars ... thus far Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, and Betsy Russell are the only ones named or I'd already have plane tickets!
Link: SAWMANIA
Nice catch Karen -- I agree with everything you stated. As Babette would say, with her little fist going back and forth: "Recognition, recognition, recognition!"
UPDATE on Karen's post -- I just received an e-mail from Raybin and they announce that "all" of the stars will be in NYC -- I'm not sure how reliable it is, but here's the meat of the message below:
Quote:
SAWMANIA autograph tickets for individual stars are now available.
Go to SAWMANIA to buy individual autograph tickets in-advance of SAWMANIA. Buy your autograph tickets in advance to guarantee that you will meet the SAW star of your choice and get their autograph.
Best wishes,
Debbie
COME TO SAWMANIA AND MEET ALL THE STARS OF "SAW" - NOVEMBER 14-16 IN NEW YORK CITY! FOR DETAILS, GO TO SAWMANIA
I think time will tell on the certainty of this information (that was sent to me). I would like to see Scott coming to the east coast to promote Saw -- even if it's after the premiere in October. I was thinking of and planning on venturing to NYC but wish I could get a confirmation first. Of course, TPTB want to sell their tickets way in advance -- sell out crowds 3 months early -- so it looks like Craig's List for me for a last second ticket. We'll see.
Of course! It's the 2 C's - creativity and control!!! It's also called lots of work in the industry in the event there aren't enough roles for men in their late 30s, 40s and 50s (why - I'll never know!) ... just as there aren't for women (not fair either!!!!)
If Scott did get the CSI part I'd return to the show, I haven't watched the original in years!
Holding my breath - how great would that be?!!
Ideal: I'd love to see Scott on a cable series (e.g., HBO, SHO) - not prey to all the puritanical restrictions of 'regular TV' ... so much more latitude.
I guess I could settle for NBC or CBS......
~~~

Meanwhile - evidently miracles can happen (!) ... Her Best Move is finally being released on DVD (U.S.) August 19! I'd long since given up on that one.... It has a different cover than the original website version (more Scott!) ... I don't know about extras ... currently on sale (pre-purchase) on amazon.com (~$16.50). The cool thing about amazon: if the price goes down after you order but before the release date, you pay the lower price.

I'm so glad - it's a great family film - it would be lovely to see it receive some positive reviews and will get Scott's name in the media before the release of Saw V in October.

Thank you so much for that Deborah. Any idea if there will be a confirmation list? I'm only a few hours from NYC, so this might be my chance!

I posted Spoiler news, link and picture on the Spoilers Thread of Scott in Saw V -- it's the first Scott picture in Saw V; and the first Saw V Trailer. Scott also was interviewed at Comic Con in San Diego, I posted his comments.

Just an FYI -- BTW, you will NOT like the trailer -- it is exclusively Scott, but it ain't pretty.
