It's official !!

I've received an e-mail from TV Guide that "A tenative agreement has been reached with the WGA"

Apparently there's video/tv announcements now. More information forthcoming. Looks like today -- the Strike Is Officially Over!!!

I hope this means that everybody wins here.

Thank goodness.

I hope the TV guide has some news about Aliens next week but I doubt it, they seem to only cover the same shows over and over!

I wrote to "Ask Ausiello" last week. Wonder if he'll reprint it. Odds not good - but not impossible either ... he once printed a GG question I sent in!

Meanwhile - as far as the strike - the showrunners/writers who were "force-majeured" as Variety calls it - i.e., fired ... are expected to be rehired ... but I haven't seen anything yet that specifically references Guarascio and Port. However, I take the rescheduling of Aliens to Sunday nights as a great sign - #1 TV evening of the week - so let's hope/pray etc. they are un-force-majeured - pronto!

If for some weird CW-ish reason they're not (I don't put anything past that network) ... I'm prepared to write in and/or petition ... and I'll never watch another show on the CW again (unless it's an ep. of Aliens I haven't seen yet!)

Karen, I'm 150% behind that line of action if the CW does not renew Aliens for a second year. Just let me know where to sign my "John Hancock". No official news yet that the Union members "for" the tenative agreement?

CW confirms what we already speculated on how they would finish airing the remaining episodes.

Okay -- thanx Lulu. So far the speculations we have come up with so far are holding water. Good Lord. Are we beginning to read TPTB's minds (if they have any??)???? I'm now cautiously optimistic. Afraid to go any further than that at the moment.

Two things I took from that to give me hope for next season and it's based on other series misfortunes.

1. They say that LIW is most likely cancelled
2. Looks like one of their sitcoms Girlfriends is ending this year
3. Plus possibly fewer pilots for next season (we heard that somewhere else)

adds up to keeping what they have. In my mind anyway.

I was hoping if they could make 3-4 they we'd have 22 for the season but I guess they don't want that?

I'm just going to enjoy it while we have it.

I'm thinking they have a good ammount of episodes already, so it would probably be easier and more cost effective to go with just want they have. In the scheme of things 18 episodes is alot. Most shows I think had between 11-13.

DVDs from this season will be interesting, I wonder if they'll cut the cost?

Just wondering if there are saw 22 eps on a DVD season are writers paid the same regardless of the number of eps they wrote or were a part of in the season?
