Scott is amazingly loyal and thoughtful. Will have to rewatch the Knitathon for Emily. I sincerely hope she's starting to fare a little better. Blue box is usually a clue that a gift's from Tiffany. Whatever ... undoubtedly it's something to treasure ... I hope it cheers her whenever she looks at it.

I just listened to the Starry interview ... could (and will!) totally listen to it again and again. Slightly different color (pall, more like) as to GG's ending ... which I suspected. Am not sure if that refers to the CW's dropping the Palladino's or stuff that happened during S7. I hope there are still salvageable relationships for him. Makes the GG film sound a bit less likely - but I'm glad he was asked about it; I'll still hope.

Current news - no doubt Aliens is a critical hit. I've also been checking latenight listings for sightings; none so far. Am also thinking after this round of shooting is over, end of October. My sister told me National Public Radio did a piece about Aliens - I haven't had a chance to check to see if there's a clip or transcript and if so, whether it mentions Scott. Will report back to this or the Aliens thread if I can track it down (+ no one else has). I sincerely hope so ... because although NPR doesn't get huge ratings, they get the wealthiest and most highly educated demographic. Would be great for him. Have also been keeping an eye on events at Brookings Institution in DC - they're supposed to do a forum about the Muslim American issues raised by Aliens. Haven't seen anything on their site yet ... starting to raise my hope that if it doesn't happen until November, it could be an event attended by Scott! At the very least, again he'll be exposed to a small but sophisticated and powerful demographic. "intelligentsia!" I did check out SawIV site - the credit Bousman gives to Scott is very prominent ... as is Scott's complimenting Tobin Bell ... so the fans are going to give him lots of due credit if IV is popular. Plus he's got lead billing on the posters after Bell. This fall ... and this month ... could really be (another) huge turning point for his career. Oh - and a songwriter to boot! He mentioned that years ago on WB (said he's written ~ 500 songs ... didn't think any were good). I'd so love to see him singing/playing guitar.

Can't wait to see the make-up in Aliens 1.5 or 6. Brewers fan would be fun; agree 100% he'll be a cheesehead. He already is. (On the show.) Just needs the hat!!

Here is some information I came across yesterday. All I can say is Thank God for Daniel Palladino! And if Amy, Daniel, Lauren and Sean are The Beatles, would that make Scott, I don't know, Elvis Presley?:

This one's where the "Lauren and Scott hate each other" theory comes from. Sometime during season 2, the rumor goes, Lauren was having a Bad Hair Day, took it out on an extra and Patterson argued with her about it. No proof exists any longer about it as it originated in a post on gg.org that was purged during Heidi's server problems at the top of 2005.

I've constantly challenged rumor-mongers in various forums for any other citations that Lauren and Scott hate each other and no one can come up with anything. What comes up is second- and third- hand comments that so-and-so's friend was an extra and heard Lauren call extras cockroaches (which is actually a slang term for extras in the biz because they tend to be unruly, hard to wrangle, and disruptive). No first-hand citations have ever come up from anyone willing to put their name to 'em.

So the Lauren and Scott hate each other thing persists only through people that think that Lauren is a b-tch when IMO she clearly isn't. She's just a decisive, independent woman and perfectionist.

Amy originally intended Lorelai and Christopher to be the central couple (because she saw Chris as essentially a surrogate for Daniel as much as Lorelai is a surrogate for Amy) and not Lorelai and Luke. Daniel recognized Lauren and Scott's chemistry toward the end of the first season and practically forced Amy to change the course to the Lorelai and Luke storyline.

Consequently, all the Lor and Chris stuff may be a reflection of how torn Amy has always been toward her original intent of the Lor-Chris storyline and the real direction of the show toward Lor and Luke.

Moreover, given that Amy's original intent was toward the Lor-Chris relationship, if Lauren and Scott didn't get along as early as s2 as the Lauren hatahs allege, then Patterson could have easily been fired and the show steered back to Lor-Chris.

Well, once Daniel forced her to accept the magnet-tude of Lauren and Scott's chemistry, she did fall in love with them being together.

IMO, Daniel doesn't get enough credit for the contributions he's made to the show. For some strange reason that I don't understand, there is a contingent of fans that *hate* Daniel. I think that *maybe* it's because he tended to write the interstitial episodes, stuff that was neither the ending nor the beginning of arcs, so it may have always seemed to those Daniel-hatahs that nothing ever happened in his episodes, but I've always loved his episodes. I think he's George Harrison to Amy's John & Paul.

Or Amy's John and Lauren's Paul, which, of course, makes Sean Gunn Ringo.

Cool theories!! I don't think I would have loved the show as much had they not gone in the direction of the Luke/Lorelai relationship.

I agree totally, Michelle! Luke and Lorelai totally made the show for me. Lauren was great, but I don't think she would have been half as great if Scott wasn't there to be her wingman. I mean, I was disappointed when he wasn't in a particular episode. And there were never enough Luke and Lorelai scenes for me! So that is why I said "Thank God for Daniel Palladino!" Because without Luke Danes, "Gilmore Girls" definitely would not have the hit it was!

I have to admit that I was a Lorelai and Chris fan in season 1 and most of season 2. Not as much as I am a Luke and Lorelai fan, but I could see them together. I was also a Luke fan from day one and I did see the chemistry between L&L and was also rooting for them from day one So I am glad for Mr P to have change Mrs P's mind about them, because those two were made for each other.

Daniel or no Daniel, I don't think that there is any life left in in the Chris and Lorelai relationship after what happend at the end of season 7. Amy and Dan are a team and if the movie is a fact, they'll both be there and so will Scott!

I don't know where I read that, but I knew about the whole Amy/Dan LC/LL thing....but didn't know about the whole LG/SP stuff. when it came down to it for me, I didn't need have any feelings one way or the other, all i cared about was on-screen chemistry and professionalism, which both seemed good. thanks for the info

nothing new to me. I knew that daniel saw the chemistry first between LL and brought amy to open her eyes. i knew that amys plan was originally LC but well even she saw eventually that LL have way more chemistry but then she must have had a thing for LL because LL have tons of moments during season 1 and those already during the first episodes.

daniel saw it in 1.07 KAT that LL are meant to be and not just at the end of the first season. and DP will always be my hero because he wrote SS and its my fav episode.

as for SP/LG hating rumor. they said themselve its wrong and i mean the tension has to come from somewhere so yes i do believe when they had spats they had fun getting loud like he said he loves her like a little sister and all of you who have siblings know what kind of relationship that is

anyway now Amy is a true JJ and I would like her together with Daniel to write the script for a gg movie

I knew about the DP seeing the chemistry early on but never knew how much Amy was against L&L and Pro Chris, it does explain why she screwed up the 2nd half of S6. She knew Luke would never cheat and that it would take something big for Lorelai to runaway. She did it on purpose after not getting her way with the WB/CW for a 2 season renewal, ironically the network a year later wanted S8 but they just had the problem of getting the leads to sign on.

I still think all involved (if they wanted S8) should have signed up at the start of S7, even if it took a truck load of money to get the ladies for S8.

I don't know where all of you read these things but I'm just glad you do. I will now be forever grateful to Dan P for my L/L obsession. I do not think the show would have been half as good had L & L not been the super couple they were, I know I would not have been such a huge fan. I think L/C had a connection & were cute together but they never had the passion and "hotness" of L/L. Luke & Lorelai were meant to be ...."it was written in the stars"

What I had just posted last night was news to me. While I had heard that Amy saw chemistry between Scott and Lauren from the first episode, she still had it in mind until Daniel changed her mind that Lorelai would end up with Chris. That is why they picked David Sutcliffe for the role, because he was Lauren's ex-boyfriend who she still had great chemistry with. Scott was originally only supposed to be in the pilot episode, but they mad him a regular when Amy saw the rapport that Scott and Lauren had. Scott always credits Amy for that, not Daniel. But then Daniel told her told her that Lorelai should end up with Luke.

I must admit that in the 1st season until the end, I saw them ending Lorelai up with Chris. I was never a Chris hater, but I LOVED Luke from the start, and how could you not want him to end up with the girl he loved so much? That was clear from the start. So I was so relieved and pleasantly surprised by the end of Season 1 and into 2 when they were realizing the L&L possibilities. When L&L stood under the chuppah, I knew the writers saw that they were meant to be.

As for posting the info elsewhere, that is fine, but I just want to say that while I totally see these theories to be true, I did not, however, come up with them.

Also, of course, in any future movie/miniseries or whatever shape we get more GG in, I think it is understood that L&L would remain together.

All I have to say is how amazing it is to me that Scott was only supposed to be on the show for 1 episode, and he ended up being the #3 most important person (#2, if you ask me) on the show! Thank God for Amy and Dan and fate!
