Scott Patterson - Aliens in America 1.06 - Homecoming ~ episode discussion

Justin (Dan Byrd) is looking forward to serving on the Homecoming Junior Float committee, where his idea for the previous years float was a big hit.

However, when Raja (Adhir Kalyan) innocently questions Justin's new idea for a float and the committee chooses Rajas idea over Justin's, a feud begins between the two friends.

Meanwhile, Franny (Amy Pietz) secretly tries on Claires (Lindsey Shaw) new, sexy Homecoming dress, which Gary (Scott Patterson) finds irresistible.

When he learns that the revealing dress belongs to Claire, however, he forbids her to wear it out of the house.

Dennie Gordon directed the episode written by Michael Glouberman.

I am really looking forward to this episode. I can't wait to see Gary freak when he realizes it is Claire's dress. Maybe we will see a mini rant

We saw part of the tattoo!! yeah... Scott looked so hot when he was sitting on the bed with Franny.
We also got to see Scott with a mullet...how funny was that!!

I loved the episode -- and we were right, Gary did freak!!! The dresses were fabulous. Claire and Franny looked great in the one dress and the dress that Claire wore to the Homecoming Dance was unbelievable on her. And Gary with long curly hair in a flashback that his and Franny's Homecoming. You know, I like Gary/Scott with long hair!! And I saw Scott's large tattoo -- wasn't hiding it in this episode. No a full shot, but with a short sleeved shirt we were able to see part of it. And ooh-la-la to his quick moves on Franny in the bedroom -- great big ~sigh~

The boys were funny too. The float was a bit of a non-entity but I liked how both of them competed -- well, mainly Justin competing -- Raja was just trying to fit in.

It was hilariously funny in the Tolchuck household tonite.

I go so excited to see the tattoo I forgot to mention that I loved this episode too. I thought the bedroom scene with Franny and Gary was cute. I would have loved to have seen Gary take his shirt off but I always have my dreams. I also loved how Franny could use her womanly ways on Gary to make him do what she wanted with letting Claire stay out until midnight. men are so predictable. Show them a little skin and you got them eating out of your hands.

I liked tonight's episode. I didn't love it because Justin annoyed me more than ever! He continues to behave immaturely and annoyingly. Even when Justin realized he was wrong, I really didn't feel any kind of evolution from him. I have a feeling he is the kind of kid that will be irritating and immature for many years to come.

Of course, I loved Raja in this episode as always! He was great!

I did like the Gary and Franny scenes tonight. The bedroom scene was cute. But, honestly, I was thinking I wish we had a scene like that with Luke and Lorelai. Do you think I have a problem letting go? Maybe I do.

I didn't really like the 1st dress although I can understand how Gary would be turned on by that dress when Franny wore it. It did look like some tacky lingerie. But I loved the dress that Claire ended up wearing! That was beautiful! I wish she would wear more nice clothes like that - they don't have to cost the same as a down payment on a car.

I'm not too impressed with this episode and some of the lines/scenes were cringe worthy. I thought they seriously over did it with the last scene where Franny flashed Gary-- was that really necessary?? The bedroom scene was tastefully done-- not too much but just enough to get the point across. I don't want to give up on Aliens but I got a serious push over the fence tonight. I'm just barely hanging on with the tip of my fingers.

Overall, I liked this episode a lot! I can't really get into the kids' storyline, but I love the scenes at home!

I am the same. When Franny was looking in the mirror, it reminded me of Lorelai and her getting ready for her getting back together date with Luke and then when Gary pulled her towards him, it reminded me of the gazebo scene in 601.

I am also more into Granny than the kids storyline

When I saw the Palledino (sp) kids it reminded me of Beavis and Butthead...

Seriously. And if the show continues/gets picked up [although with this writers strike who the hell knows what's going to happen], I hope they give us more of the '80s flashbacks [like the pregnancy test, and homecoming], 'cause I'm lovin' those.

Really? When GG was cancelled and all the other shows were having their season finale weddings, like Bones, I did have those longing "I wish that was Luke & Lorelai" or bitter "Ugh, that should've been Luke & Lorelai" thoughts. But I don't think, or are reminded, of them in the context of other couples anymore, which is a kinda relief.

Thank you all so much for the writing from AiA and the pics. I can´t see it anywhere, so here is the place, where I find some news.

I hope we can get more photos from the scene Gary and Franny "doing it"

God Scott looks so great and as I can see so far he realy make Gary to a spezial charakter. Hopefully they make more episodes!
