Saw V Discussion Thread (Oct. 24th) -- There will be *SPOILERS*

[need to insert a Saw and/or Strahm banner here]

I went to a midnight showing of V and I have to say that after seeing all the movies V was the most mild -- if that can be believed. I think the reason for that was the storylines of Hoffman and Jigsaw and Strahm and Hoffman. And there were some bloody awful traps -- and ones that I just couldn't watch from beginning to end -- just putting my head down and listening to the voices/audio of the screams and pain were enough for me. What made the movie worthwhile though was the abundance of Scott throughout the whole movie. He and Costas each had their own storylines and rarely connected with each other; but each had dramatic scenes. I thought Scott was extremely on top of his game in his role. He sure does like the serious roles -- especially the ones where he's carrying a gun.

I thought I'd start this thread so that we can all discuss Scott's scenes more in detail -- answer any "W" and "H" questions.

Be mindful that for those who haven't seen the movie yet, there will be posts that discusses things that will be considered SPOILERS.

Hopefully some great quality screencaps of the movie will surface soon enough -- I'm only interested in those with Scott in them.

I will tell you that it broke my heart to see the endng. Very sad indeed.

I don´t know, if it is allowed to ask for that, but will Scott be in SAW VI acting such like in SAW V?

That is good to hear
After seeing the "drowning" video, I didn't real feel like watching the movie. That piece made me feel scared and it felt like it was me in there

It's not really clear to me Austria -- but since he signed up for 3 movies it sounds like he would -- maybe there's a link to the past. Strahm investigating and coming up conclusons to all the Jigsaw murders doesn't leave much to tell for him though -- there's always "Strahm's" past

What I'm curious about is why Strahm was wearing a wedding band with no references to a wife in both movies. So maybe there's a story there??

i am looking forward to see that movie, but in germany it will air in january...that's a looooooooooooooong time....but still i'm very excited. when i watched VI i was really surprised by scott's performance, as i just knew him as luke and this part was a big difference. but he isn't just damned hot, he also is a damned good actor, as he could play absolutely each role CREDIBLE!!! when i watched VI i wasn't sure whether this part would really fit to him, or whether he might leave a good performance, but since that i am looking forward to V and i cannot await till it will air here too!!!! scott belongs to these few actors in the world who can really play EACH role, as he is a really passionate actor, and you can see even in the SAW movies that he enjoys acting, and that's also one thing that makes him even more perfect!!!

That with the wedding ring was also my thought! So did he die in V and he will come to VI in flachbacks?

Well, let's put it this way -- nobody actually sees him die, but there are screams and the dripping of blood -- and if there was ever a time for a bizarre event to take place, this would be the spot for it -- to surprise us with another daring act for Strahm to survive. It was amazing that he survived the fish tank trap.

It will take time to get to see it overhere, and I hope to find someone to go with me to look at that.

Hey Austria, do you know Saw V is being released in Czech Republic on October 30th? I know for sure it will be out in Prague. Maybe you could take a road trip or train to Cesky Krumlov or some other town close to the border.

I agree with you xxbrit, the ending was very upsetting. Hard for Scott fans to watch. Scott was excellent though, wasn't he?
