| Oh I wouldn't mind Scott being the bad guy ![]() I'm really getting excited about the movie especially since I read the Tobin Bell interview. That guy is as creepy as Jigsaw ![]() They should release some pics already. I watched Hostel 2 the other day. Don't even bother with it guys. Worst movie I have seen lately. __________________ “I don’t get it.” - “I know. That’s why you’re hopping.” | |||

| I have received some information from My Friend regarding SP and a new TV series. It looks like Scott was ready to accept the role of the father in a new half-hour comedy set to debut this fall on the CW. The show is called “Aliens in America”. I write “was ready” because now he is rethinking his decision. Apparently the megalomaniac that is currently running the CW network has suddenly developed amnesia and can’t remember who Scott Patterson is or what his performance as Luke Danes did for her network last season. Dawn Ostroff (the megalomaniac in question) has decided that she can not accept SP in the role unless he auditions for the part. Yes, she seriously wants him to audition for the role! I guess for Ms. Ostroff, Scott’s performances over the past 7 years in 154 episodes of the Gilmore Girls just aren’t enough of an indication of the quality of work she could expect from him. She needs to see him for another 3 minutes. Clearly her brain must be capacity deficient since she seems to be unable to recall the magnitude of the range emotion that he displayed just in the past season. Scott showed us a man who was so unsure about the direction for his life that it took the total loss of everything around him before he finally understood what he wanted. It is only then that Scott reveals the depth of the pain that the character is experiencing to us as he finally understands the cost of his inactions. We watch as SP takes this shattered man and rebuilds him into a loving and confident father, a doting uncle, and a full participant in the world around him. In one revealing scene, we are gifted through the talent of Scott Patterson to not only observe but to share the intense and raw emotions breaking the heart of this character as he listens to a song in a dark karaoke bar. There are no miscommunication between the actor and his audience. He knows how to touch us and we respond. For seven years, Scott laid the soul of this character out bare for us to share, and share we did. He drew us in with his ability to tease, his wit to amuse, and his sincerity to love. He made certain that we savored all the layers and facets of this character, warts and all. We saw all of this but apparently Dawn Ostroff didn’t or she didn’t retain the knowledge. It seems that she needs him to perform at least one more scene for her or she can’t offer him the role. I guess all that work he did before doesn’t count with her. She forgot the performances that Scott gave week after week on her network and she forgot that his performance is one of the major reasons that the Gilmore Girls and the CW network as a whole received the ratings that it did. . Anyway at this point, My Friend believes that SP and his people are justifiably offended by the disrespectful attitude of Ms. Ostroff. SP paid his dues and deserves recognition for his body of work. Unless something radical changes, My Friend expects SP will pass on this show and wait for a better opportunity on a better network (any place other than the CW). If you want me to tell you what that means as far as our hope to see SP on TV this fall, I can’t even speculate. We will just have to wait and see. My first instinct was to send a scathing letter to Dawn Ostroff but a cooler head has taken over. Using fowl expletives to curse Ms. Ostroff may make me feel better but won’t help maintain the honorable reputation of SP in the industry. I don’t want to do anything that might damage it. He has always been respectful of all of his employers and associates and as his fan, the least I can do is follow his example. Therefore, I intend to send letters to Dawn Ostroff and her Executive Vice Presidents full of praise for the talent and skill of Scott Patterson. I will also share within these letters my extreme disappointment that I won’t have the pleasure of seeing him on the CW network each week anymore. I shall sing my accolades of SP with all the charm that I can muster to each of the following executives: Dawn Ostroff President of Entertainment 3300 W. Olive Ave. Burbank, CA 91505 Thom Sherman EVP, Drama Development 3300 W. Olive Ave. Burbank, CA 91505 Kim Fleary EVP, Comedy 3300 W. I love the way you wrote that. Thanks for that incredible post! And I can't believe it! Are they serious? Scott has to audition? Man. He has been treated so unfairly with Repo and now this? I mean, come on? How often does he have to proof himself? ![]() Gonna write those letters today!! Thanks Sassy! ![]() ETA: On the CW site, Patrick Breen is listed as the father. | Thanks for the info. Woah, I can't believe this. It's not easy for Scott at the moment. Poor guy. First Repo, then this... ![]() But I don't know if that'd be my kind of show anyway. I'd prefer a drama. And yeah, maybe it's better if he doesn't go back to the CW at all. You just wouldn't expect something like this.. after he played one hell of a role for 7 years.. and then he gets no recognition for that. ARGH! | |||

I mean, I'd watch it, for Scott, but I'd prefer a drama as well. I am really annoyed! ![]() __________________ Spoiler Free is the way to be!!

| I actually like what I've seen of Aliens in America. Its funny. But I thought they already had the dad casted? Well, clearly something is up but I have to stick with my decision to push for Scott to move to a bigger network. DO is a nutjob. How that woman still has her job is mindbogglingly. But if Scott wants it I support him 110% and will do anything to help. | |||

He should wait for a show on another network. A network that appreciates him and the awesome work he has done for tv the last 7 years. ![]() I was writing a letter to Scott and gonna add a few to the Network Ugh, that makes me really mad... ![]() __________________ Got a screamin' feelin' Need a little lovin' healin'

| First of all, those little notes are really nice!! I love reading from him!! ![]() Lea, maybe you could talk Scott into opening up a profile on some of the spaces where you can do that nowadays like so many artists have done. This way he or someone like you could keep his fans up-to-date on that platform once in a while. At the moment the fan forums are the only source for his projects. Something official and central would be great! Just an idea ... He will find something right for him in the future. I can totally picture him in a demanding political/drama movie where he plays some kind of difficult and mysterious but good in his heart character with whom the female lead falls in love. Now, someone, just offer him that role ... please ... ![]() Last edited by Cherokee West : 06-17-2007 at 08:30 AM. | |||
