Apparently in the original airing of the 2nd ep Lorelai gave a whole speech as she was driving Rory to Chilton for the first time. On the DVD you can see some of her talking but there is music playing over it.

I am so done with plans. I am never ever making one again. It never works. I spend the day obsessing over why it didn't work and what I could've done differently. I'm analyzing all my shortcomings when all I really need to be doing is vowing to never ever make a plan ever again, which I'm doing now. Having, once again, been the innocent victim of my own stupid plans. God, I need some coffee.

Amy Sherman-Palladino's chatter-rich scripts brilliantly took single mom Lorelai and teen daughter Rory and made them the stars of a Tracy-Hepburn love story. (Sample: Rory teases her mom about dating a much younger man. Lorelai: He's in his twenties! Rory: He must have been a very good boy to deserve such a happy day. I bet they let him ride a pony.) That annoys me too! However, when I watch it w/ friends and then can point out what they cut off, I get that "you're crazy" look which amuses me...so silver lining. lol.

I think ABC Family tries to be Polically Correct. I know they bleeped Lorelai saying So and So tried to sell me a dime bag at the dancew. Crazy Carrie said Animals shouldn't mate for life except tigers but they're retarded. And TJ called Luke a dick. As did Jess call Logan the blond haired dick at Yale.

I believe I am a fount of useless infomation. Or maybe not so useless.

Here a TV network has the habit of fading out the last few seconds before the ad break, which is back when they are still talking!

Some of you may recall I wrote tvguide.com recently to complain that they were still showing a 1+ year-old GG promo shot of Scott in their "Aliens in America" photo gallery. Did I get action? Oh yeah. They yanked Scott's GG pic - (1 of the black shirt photos) from the "Aliens" gallery ... but didn't replace it with anything new. Grrrrrrrr. So, I am delighted that at least there's a real Aliens pic with Scott that's not in the airport. FYI - tvguide.com also has an "Aliens in America" message board with only 1 message that praises Amy Pietz and refers to "the father" as bland ... but I don't know if that poster was referring to Scott or his predecessor. Less than 3 1/2 weeks, posse!!!!!!

That's fantastic news about GG and Time Magazine - thank you! About time the show got national recognition!!! The only thing that bugs me - not that Alexis Bledel wasn't good - and yes, the title is Gilmore girls - but no question in my (humble!) mind ... the best banter - (consistently, too!) - was Luke and Lorelai ... ... hello?!!
Their scenes are completely reminiscent of the so-called "screwball comedies" of the 1930s and 40s, which (big picture) was far and away the most refreshing thing about the show! No one else has done anything like it. The writing teams knew it: Two of the best examples of the original cinema genre were "watched" by GG characters- "My Man Godfrey" (Lorelai joins Luke in movie theater at the end of Ep. 100) and "The Philadelphia Story" (Luke in April's hospital room - some time in 1st part of Season 7). I haven't seen Time's list yet, but I hope GG's high on the list. It's in my personal top 10 ... but I'm slightly biased. (Only slightly!!!!) Good is good!!!!!!!!!!
I know we're supposed to be nice because she's still one of Scott's bosses ... but I hope that news makes Dawn Ostroff (the CW) look foolish for dropping the ball on GG - as well it should.

Undoubtedly I am too (full of "useless info").... I prefer to say "I'm detail-oriented"!! Speaking of such details: I'm pretty sure ABC Family started out as the Christian Broadcasting Network - so I'm not surprised by the bleeps. Yet recently, when showing "Luke Can See Her Face," they didn't bleep his strongest pejorative of the show (that we know of!!!!!!!)

The one that continually bugs the #$%^*% out of me - the town's engagement party of Lorelai and Max ... Lorelai coaches Luke out of the diner ... he sits down on a bench, and next to him are 3 little girls dressed up as brides (Miss Patty kids who danced to "Love Will Keep Us Together"). Luke's bummed - looking at his feet. The girls are all looking at him like "Will you pleez wait for me to grow up so I can marry you?" (Exactly what I was thinking...!!!) Suddenly he notices the 3 girls looking up at him ... and gives them an awkward smile. Such a great moment! Terrific acting by Scott !!!!!

Unless you're watching ABC family ... in which case, the 3 girls look at him longingly and ... cut to commercial!!!!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrr

KbatMO ITA about the promo pic's what's wrong with them, spend a day, take some new ones for posters and stuff!

Then again on some CW station sites I've still seen them using Alexis and Kristen, who's shows are no longer on the CW.

You can really feel for Luke sitting there having to watch Lorelai with Max, probably thinking "If only I had said something". Well after all the crap he we through in the 7 season he ended up with the girl, I guess that's what matters in the end.
